Article Synopsis
  • Photocatalytic efficiency is influenced by visible-light absorption, electron transfer, and the activity of catalytic centers, but integrating these factors effectively is still not widely studied.
  • A new method involving a sensitizer/catalyst dual regulation strategy was developed using a polyoxometalate@Metal-Organic Framework (POM@MOF) platform to create efficient photocatalysts.
  • The resulting Ni-Sb@UiO-Ir-C6 photocatalyst achieved an impressive hydrogen evolution rate (turnover number of 326923), surpassing previous models by over 34 times, thanks to enhanced light absorption, electron transfer, and catalytic activity.

To develop a cement emulsified asphalt composite (CEAC) that can be sprayed under a plateau negative temperature environment, the effects of the water-solid ratio, calcium aluminate cement substitution rate, emulsified asphalt content, sand-binder ratio, and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber content on the spraying performance and rheological parameters of CEAC were explored through the controlled variable method. Additionally, the correlation between the spraying performance and rheological parameters of CEAC was established, and the optimal proportion of CEAC was determined. Then, the difference in frost resistance and pore structure between the cement slurry (CS) without emulsified asphalt and CEAC at the optimum proportion was analyzed.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a prominent cause of vision loss among the elderly, and the treatment options for dry AMD (dAMD) are severely limited. Lutein has a favorable effect on the treatment of dAMD. Algae oil, rich in docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), is considered an effective intervention for eye diseases.

Cement-emulsified asphalt (CEA) has been widely used in slab ballastless track and asphalt pavement cold recycling projects because of its high stiffness and toughness. In CEA material, emulsifiers and asphalt affect the cement's hydration process and microstructure. Thus, to further investigate the effects of anionic emulsifiers (AEs) and anionic emulsified asphalt (AEA) with different demulsification rates on the hydration process and microstructure of cement, two types of AE (rapid-setting and slow-setting) and their corresponding AEA were used to prepare modified cement pastes.

Dysphagia, a condition characterized by difficulty swallowing, has emerged as a threat to health. Herein, we investigated the feasibility of preparing a novel 3D-printed dysphagia diet using emulsions and gellan gum. A gel network was facilitated by the inclusion of gellan gum, which also helped to reduce the size of the oil droplets.

Objective: To describe the characteristics of a consultation-liaison psychiatry (CLP) service at a general hospital in China, compare the literature on CLP in other hospitals in China and abroad, and identify reasons for the differences.

Methods: The medical records of all inpatients who received liaison consultations in the first year of the establishment of Xi'an International Medical Center Hospital were reviewed. Demographic data, specific department, number of consultations, reasons for consultation, outcome of consultation, and follow-up information on patients was collected.

Purpose: Mesangial cells-mediated glomerulonephritis refers to a category of immunologically mediated glomerular injuries characterized by infiltration of circulating inflammatory cells, proliferation of mesangial cells, and the common pathological manifestation to the later stage is renal fibrosis, accompanied by excessive accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM). Treatment regimens include glucocorticoids and immunosuppressive agents, but their off-target distribution causes severe systemic toxicity. Hence, specific co-delivery of "anti-inflammatory/anti-fibrosis" drugs to the glomerular mesangial cell (MC) region is expected to produce better therapeutic effects.
