The ubiquitous EPS (extracellular polymeric substances), as a type of dissolved organic carbon, plays a key role in carbon cycling in water environment. When EPS meet the omnipresent PFOS (perfluorooctane sulfonate), they must interact with each other and exert profound effect on behavior and fate of both, which is still not well known. A rapid strategy for discriminating Quanzhi (QZ) and Bozhi (BZ) of different cultivation of Xinhui tangerine peel was established by combining electronic nose, electronic tongue and chemometrics, which can be used as tool in the market to identify food fraud. 30 volatiles and 34 low molecular weight compounds of characteristic fingerprints of Xinhui tangerine peel of 108 samples were identified using GC-MS and UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS. Enzyme inhibitors from natural products are becoming an attractive target for drug discovery and development; however, separating enzyme inhibitors from natural-product extracts is highly complex. In this study, we developed a strategy based on tyrosinase-site blocking ultrafiltration integrated with HPLC-QTOF-MS/MS and optimized molecular docking to screen tyrosinase inhibitors from Radix extract. Under optimized ultrafiltration parameters, we previously used kojic acid, a known tyrosinase inhibitor, to block the tyrosinase active site in order to eliminate false-positive results.
