Objective: Unilateral biportal endoscopic (UBE)surgery is being increasingly adopted as a minimally invasive technique. The purpose of the current study was to introduce a novel surgical technique for lateral recess and same-level foraminal decompression by the contralateral inclinatory approach with unilateral biportal endoscopy(CIA-UBE) at the lumbar level.

Methods: Between January 2020 and February 2022, 10 patients suffering from lateral recess and same-level foraminal stenosis at the lumbar level underwent UBE surgery by contralateral inclinatory approach (CIA-UBE).

Objective: To assess the learning curve of the unilateral biportal endoscopic (UBE) technique for the treatment of single-level lumbar disc herniation by cumulative summation (CUSUM) method analysis.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted to assess 97 patients' general condition, operation time, complications, and curative effect of single segmental UBE surgery performed by a spinal surgeon in his early stage of this technique. The learning curve of operation time was studied using a CUSUM method, and the cut-off point of the learning curve was obtained.

Multiple myeloma (MM) remains an incurable hematological malignancy characterized by proliferation and accumulation of plasma cells in the bone marrow. Innovative and effective therapeutic approaches that are able to improve the outcome and the survival of MM sufferers, especially the identification of novel natural compounds and investigation of their anti-MM mechanisms, are needed. Here, we investigated the effects and the potential mechanisms against MM of forskolin, a diterpene derived from the medicinal plant , in MM cell line MM.

Poor drug efficacy is a prominent cause of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) treatment failure. Although increased efforts in developing OSCC therapeutic strategies have been achieved in recent decades, the 5-year survival rate of patients with OSCC remains poor and effective drugs to treat OSCC are lacking. The aim of the present study was to investigate the apoptotic effect caused by lycorine hydrochloride (LH) and to identify its mechanism in the OSCC HSC-3 cell line.

Objective: To compare the effectiveness between modified ilioinguinal approach combined with Kocher-Langenbeck (K-L) approach and Stoppa approach combined with K-L approach for the treatment of complicated acetabular fractures.

Methods: Between May 2011 and May 2016, Sixty-two patients with complicated acetabular fractures were treated with operation via combined anterior and posterior approaches. Thirty-four cases (group A) were treated with modified ilioinguinal approach combined with K-L approach, and 28 cases (group B) were treated with Stoppa approach combined with K-L approach.
