Unlabelled: Fingerprints with similar morphological characteristics but from different individuals can lead to errors in individual identification, especially when dealing with large databases containing millions of fingerprints. To address this issue and enhance the accuracy of similar fingerprint identification, the use of the likelihood ratio (LR) model for quantitative evaluation of fingerprint evidence has emerged as an effective research method. In this study, the LR fingerprint evidence evaluation model was established by using mathematical statistical methods, such as parameter estimation and hypothesis testing.

Objective: The present study was designed to explore endurable pressure intensity of different paranasal sinus mucosa in goats.

Method: Mucosa commonly involved in maxillary sinus augmentation, including mucosa from maxillary sinus crest, maxillary sinus floor, and frontal sinus, were harvested in a computed tomography-guided manner. The obtained mucosa was then sectioned into square and irregular ones for maximum endurable pressure intensity determination and morphological observation, respectively.

Aiming at the tracking problem for a class of high-order nonlinear systems with arbitrary initial state, this paper proposes different initial state shifts rectifying schemes for systems with different orders from the perspective of solving differential equations to ensure that the systems achieve complete tracking over the specified interval. This method relaxes the requirement of initial positioning in iterative learning control, and solves the problem of iterative learning control for high-order nonlinear systems with arbitrary initial state error. The theoretical analysis shows that the proposed schemes can make all signals in the system bounded, and ensure that the tracking error in the preset interval tends to zero as the number of iterations increases.

This study aims to explore and compare the biological characteristics of mucosal thickness and tensile strength of the paranasal sinuses (maxillary and frontal sinuses) in goats, thereby providing a theoretical basis and guidance for mucosa-related problems involved in maxillary sinus lifting.

Background: Osteotome sinus floor elevation is a less invasive approach to augment an insufficient alveolar bone at the posterior maxilla for dental implantation. However, this approach has some limitations due to the lack of sinus lift tools available for clinical use and the small transcrestal access to the maxillary sinus floor. The objective of this study was to comparatively evaluate 3 different sinus lift tools, namely umbrella-shaped sinus lift curette YSL-04, our recently designed probe-improved sinus lift curettes, and our newly invented elevator 014, using our previous developed goat ex vivo models for direct visualizing the effectiveness of detaching sinus mucosa in real time. Goat ex vivo models for direct visualizing the effectiveness of detaching sinus mucosa in real time were generated according to our previously developed protocol. The effectiveness for each tool was evaluated through the length of sinus mucosa detached in mesial and distal directions or buccal and palatal directions, and the space volume created by detaching maxillary sinus mucosa in mesial, distal, buccal and palatal directions.

Purpose: To investigate bilateral temporomandibular joint of patients with unilateral multiple symptoms in cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and explore the reference planes that may be different,providing reference for the diagnosis of temporomandibular disorders and comparative study.

Methods: 50 cases with unilateral multiple symptoms(except for cases with unilateral single symptom)were examined by CBCT and the following indexes were observed and analyzed,including horizontal angles of the cross-sectional condyle after the reconstruction in the same patient, joint space, macroaxis diameter of condyle and vertical angles of condyle, which were commonly used at oblique position parallelled to the long axis of condyle, the gradient of articular tubercle and the joint space,which could be obtained at sagittal and oblique position vertical to the long axis of condyle.The data obtained was analyzed by paired t test with SPSS13.
