Objective: To study the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) neurofilament light chain (NfL) in pediatric acquired demyelinating syndrome (ADS) and its association with factors of laboratory and imaging results.

Methods: We analyzed clinical data from children with ADS collected from May 2020 to January 2021 at the Department of Neurology of Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were used to detect the CSF NfL of patients.

Objective: To investigate the associations between brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) changes and clinical profiles in children with anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis.

Methods: Clinical data and brain MRI results of children diagnosed with anti-NMDAR encephalitis in Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center from October 2014 to June 2022 were retrospectively studied.

Results: A total of 143 children (Male: female 54:89) were enrolled, with a mean onset age of 6.

Objective: To explore the genetic basis for a girl featuring epilepsy, developmental delay and regression.

Methods: Clinical data of the patient was collected. Activities of hexosaminidase A (Hex A) and hexosaminidase A&B (Hex A&B) in blood leukocytes were determined by using a fluorometric assay.

Recent studies found that changes of thyroid antibodies (ATAbs), thyroid hormone, and non-thyroidal illness syndrome (NTIS) characterized by thyroid hormone inactivation with low triiodothyronine and high reverse triiodothyronine followed by suppressed thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) in adult anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis were associated with disease severity. This study aimed to explore thyroid function and ATAbs in pediatric anti-NMDAR encephalitis and their clinical association. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 51 pediatric cases with anti-NMDAR encephalitis hospitalized in Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center from August 2016 to 2019.

Objective: To study the clinical features of children diagnosed with anti-NMDAR encephalitis in southern China.

Methods: Clinical data of children diagnosed with anti-NMDAR encephalitis from October 2014 to June 2020 from one national regional medical center were analyzed. Neurological disability was assessed by modified Rankin Scale (mRS) throughout the course of disease.

Background: Mitochondrial encephalomyopathy caused by bi-allelic deleterious variants in TARS2 is rare. To date, only two pedigrees were reported in the literature and the connection between the gene and disease needs further study.

Case Presentation: We report one infant who presented with limb hypertonia, epilepsy, developmental delay, and increased serum lactate from a non-consanguineous Chinese family.

Purpose: To analyze diurnal cortisol (COR) rhythms among children with epileptic spasms (ESs) and explore the relationship between endocrine factors, circadian rhythm, and ES.

Methods: This study assessed the COR and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) levels at 08:00 and 16:00, and COR values at 00:00 among children with ESs. Additionally, the etiology of ESs was analyzed.

Objective: To analyze the clinical features in children with anti-NMDAR encephalitis combined with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody (MOG ab).

Methods: Clinical data of 7 children with anti-NMDAR encephalitis combined with MOG ab(+) were collected in Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center from January, 2016 to June, 2019. Children with NMDAR ab(+)/MOG ab(-) and MOG ab(+)/NMDAR ab(-) were randomly selected as controls.

The 'hot cross' bun (HCB) sign refers to pontine cruciform hyperintensity on T2 weighted magnetic resonance image (MRI) which is frequently seen in multiple system atrophy and spinocerebellar ataxia types 2 and 3. We describe a 3 years old boy of encephalitis and his MRI image showed HCB sign in the pontine. After immunosuppressive treatment and followed up 14 months, he got a good outcome and the HCB sign narrowed nearly disappeared.

The purpose of this study was to establish the phospho-specific flow cytometry (phospho-flow) to detect the phosphorylated signaling proteins of leukemia cells and to evaluate its useful value in leukemia study. The bone marrow of leukemia children was collected, and treated by phospho-flow of extracted mononuclear cells (MNC) and phospho-flow of directly fixed bone marrow (BM) respectively. In phospho-flow of extracted MNC, the MNC extracted from BM were fixed and permeabilized, then were cultured with P-AKT and P-ERK1/2, finally were analyzed by flow cytometry.
