Bilobalide, one of the key bioactive components of Ginkgo biloba leaves, exerts prominent neuroprotective properties in central nervous system (CNS) disease. However, the effect of bilobalide on blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability remains unknown. In this study, we investigated the effect of bilobalide on BBB permeability and its potential mechanism involved.

The aim of this study was to clarify the main components of the green leaves of Callicarpa nudiflora, and to compare the difference of main components between the green leaves, yellow leaves, branches and seeds. In this study,ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) coupled with the UNIFI scientific information system was adopted. And the identification of the main chemical components of C.

Objective: To investigate the effect of FTZ on high-glucose-induced oxidative stress and underlying mechanisms.
Methods: We used a cell dysfunction and diabetes model that was induced in rats fed a high-fat high-sugar diet (HFHSD) for 6 weeks and injected once with 35 mg/kg streptozocin (STZ). Then, 3 and 6 g/kg of FTZ were administered by gavage for 8 weeks.
Prisconnatanones A (Priscon-A) is a rare tetrahydroanthraquinone isolated from herbal Prismatomeris connate. In this study, we examine its anti-tumour activity on human laryngocarcinoma HEp-2 cells in vitro. The CCK-8 assay was performed to evaluate its cytotoxicity.

Design: By MDL(®) ISIS_Base 2.5, we constructed a compound database based on the FTZ constituents, which were detected in the rat serum after oral administration of the TCM through ultra-performance liquid chromatography/quadruple-time-of-flight mass-spectrometry (UPLC/Q-TOF-MS/MS) method.
This experiment aimed to investigate the effects of the chitosan (CTS) and water-soluble chitosan (WSC) microspheres on plasma lipids in male Sprague-Dawley rats fed with high-fat diets. CTS microspheres and WSC microspheres were prepared by the spray-drying technique. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs showed that the microspheres were nearly spherical in shape.

Coptis alkaloids extract (CAE) was prepared by alcohol extraction from Rhizoma Coptidis that have been quality-controlled according to the protocol. The cholesterol-lowering effect of CAE was evaluated on SD rats fed with high-lipid diet.

FTZ has been developed with the potential to correct abnormal lipid metabolism. This Chinese herbal medicine has been prescribed for 20 years, which has been issued patent and clinically proven for use in the treatment of dyslipidemia.

Male SD (Sprague-Dawley) rats were separated into five groups, a normal diet group, a high fat emulsions group, a CTS control group and CTS-NP groups treated with two different doses of CTS-NP. The nanoparticles were spherical in shape and had a smooth surface.

Aim Of The Study: To investigate the neuroprotective effects of FLDK-P70, a standardized flavonoid extract, using in vivo rat models of both focal ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and on transient global brain ischemia induced by four-vessel occlusion (4-VO). We also aim to examine the effects of FLDK-P70 on glutamate-induced cell injury of hippocampal neurons as well as on hypoxia-induced injury of cortical neurons in primary cell culture.
