The Pichia pastoris expression system is a favorable platform for production of pharmaceutical proteins. Treatment of strains with N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) has been shown to enhance the yield of recombinant proteins, thereby contributing to a reduction in production costs. However, the specific mechanism of action of NAC remains unclear.

A total of 144 male Yangzhou geese were randomly assigned to four groups based on light color, with each group consisting of 36 geese. The geese were provided with ad libitum access to food and water, and were raised for 70 days under a photoperiod of 16 hours of light and 8 hours of darkness.

Using natural Braille texts in behavioral assessments and functional MRI, we sought to pinpoint the neural pathway and information flow crucial for Braille reading performance in late blind individuals. In the resting state, we discovered a unique neural connection between the higher-order 'visual' cortex, the lateral occipital cortex (LOC), and the inferior frontal cortex (IFC) in late blind individuals, but not in sighted controls.

Eosinophilia may result from three main causes: secondary (reactive), primary (clonal), and/or idiopathic. The diagnosis of idiopathic eosinophilia must be made based on excluding all reactive or clonal causes. However, some causes may be very rare so as to be misdiagnosed as idiopathic.

Pichia pastoris presents a viable platform for both industrial and pharmaceutical applications. In this study, we successfully generated a fusion protein consisting of truncated human serum albumin and human IL-22 (HSA-hIL-22) using P.

Our previous study had shown that -acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) promotes human serum albumin and porcine follicle-stimulating hormone fusion protein (HSA-pFSHβ) secretion by increasing intracellular GSH levels, but the downstream impact mechanism is not clear. In this study, we investigated the roles of autophagy as well as cell phenotype in NAC promoting HSA-pFSHβ secretion.

Moreover, many biopharmaceutical-like proteins are accompanied by degradation during secretory expression in .
Objective: In this study, we used human serum albumin and porcine follicle-stimulating hormone β (HSA-pFSHβ) fusion protein as a model protein to investigate whether and gene disruption and -acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) supplementation have synergistic effects to inhibit the degradation of recombinant proteins.
Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL) genomic abnormalities are highly disease-specific, and the ras homology family member A () gene is one of the most recurrent mutated genes, especially for G17V mutation site. Here, we identified a rare A161E mutation in an AITL patient through gene sequencing platforms. The patient presented with persistent hypereosinophilia, asymptomatic or symptomatic mildly for over 3 years.

A color sketch creates a vivid depiction of a scene using sparse pencil strokes and casual colored brush strokes. The interactive drawing system ColorSketch can help novice users generate color sketches from photos. To preserve artistic freedom and expressiveness, the proposed system gives users full control over pencil strokes, while automatically augmenting pencil sketches using color mapping, brush stroke rendering, and blank area creation.

To explore the role of miRNAs in electroacupuncture (EA) tolerance of rats using deep sequencing, rats with more than a 50 % increase in tail flick latency (TFL) in response to EA were selected for this experiment.

To this end, a real-time image transfer algorithm is developed to stylize the cloned object according to a distance metric based on the artistic styles and semantic information. Several interactive functions, such as layering, shadowing, semantic labeling, and direction field editing, are provided to enhance the harmonization of the composite image.

Although conventional image editing tools can be used to remove eyeglasses by pixel-level editing, filling in the deleted eyeglasses region with the right content is a difficult problem. Our approach works at the object level where the eyeglasses are automatically located, removed as one piece, and the void region filled.
