Iron oxide nanomaterials has good biocompatibility and safety, and has been used as contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, its clinical usefulness is hampered by its difficult preparation on large scale, its rapid clearance in vivo and low target tissue enrichment efficiency. Here, we report the synthesis of water-soluble, biocompatible, superparamagnetic non-stoichiometric zinc ferrite nanoclusters (nZFNCs) of approximately 50 g in a single batch using a one-pot synthesis technique.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFree radicals are ubiquitous in roasted foods. In this work, lipid-derived carbon-centered alkyl radical formation was first studied in roasted meat by electron spin resonance (ESR). The influence of antioxidants on the inhibition of free radicals was investigated.

Many flavonoids have been identified from , which is an important strategy employed to reduce the formation of heterocyclic amines (HAs) in roast meat. Isorhamnetin, hispidulin, and cirsimaritin from bark extract (TRE) effectively inhibit the formation of 2-amino-1-methyl-6-phenylimidazo[4,5-] pyridine (PhIP), the most abundant HAs in foods, both in roast lamb patties and in chemical models.

Hypothesis: Eggplant is rich in polysaccharides. The mechanically homogenized eggplant flesh pulp (EFP) is expected to emulsify and stabilize o/w emulsions. The adsorption and network structure of the polysaccharides are hypothesized to contribute to the stability of emulsions.

The polyphenolics in the branch bark play a key role in the quality improvement. The purposes of the present work were to explore the polyphenolic composition of bark extract and assess their potential antioxidant and antimicrobial activities.

Objective: To investigate the risky factors for pelvic floor functional disorder.
Methods: A total of 346 patients, who undergone surgery for pelvic floor reconstruction from January 2007 to December 2013 in the Third Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, were enrolled for this study and served as an experimental group. Meanwhile, 349 female healthy subjects were selected as a control group.
