Background: Intraductal papillary neoplasms (IPNs) often have a similar clinical and imaging presentation, making them difficult to diagnose. We designed this study to refine and compare intraductal papillary neoplasms' clinical and imaging characteristics.

Methods: This study included a total of 154 patients with a postoperative diagnosis of IPNs and collected their clinical, imaging, and pathological data.

Background: Endocrine drugs may affect lipid metabolism in breast cancer (BC) patients. This study explores lipid changes in early-stage BC patients taking different endocrine drugs.

Methods: The changing trend of blood lipid during endocrine therapy in 2756 BC patients from January 2013 to December 2021 was retrospectively analyzed.

Background: Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a special type of thyroid carcinoma derived from the C cell of the thyroid gland. Because of the poor prognosis of MTC, a large number of studies on MTC have been conducted in the last 10 years. To better comprehend, it is necessary to clarify and define the dominant countries, organizations, core journals, important authors, and their cumulative research contributions, as well as the cooperative relationships between them.

Purpose: To identify the clinicopathological features, treatment, and prognosis of patients with breast cancer, who were diagnosed during and after pregnancy.

Methods: We searched for patients with pregnancy-associated breast cancer (PABC) using the big data query and analysis system of Peking Union Medical College Hospital from between January 1, 2013, and December 31, 2021, and matched each patient with two non-PABC patients by age at diagnosis, year at diagnosis, and tumor stage. The clinicopathologic features, treatment, and outcomes of breast cancer during pregnancy (BC-P) and breast cancer during the first-year post-partum (BC-PP) were examined retrospectively in two case-control studies.

Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome (ARS) is an autosomal dominant disorder that is primarily due to disruption of the development of neural crest cells. The onset of associated symptoms in both eyes accompanied by extraocular developmental defects is referred to as ARS. Cardiac defects associated with ARS have been reported, but the extent of the cardiac defects has yet to be defined.

Background: Ultrasound is more widely used than mammography for early diagnosis of breast cancer in China as most Chinese women have small and dense mammary glands. This study compared the diagnostic performance of ultrasound and mammography for breast cancer among Chinese women with suspected breast lesions.

Methods: From November 2019 to November 2021, we compared the results of ultrasound and mammography for breast lesion diagnosis in 2737 consecutive participants with suspected breast lesions; all patients underwent biopsies.

Five new isoquinolines (1-5) were isolated from national herb Corydalis tomentella. Their structures were elucidated by extensive analysis of the 1D and 2D NMR spectra and from the HRESIMS. Absolute configurations of 1-3 were determined by comparing their experimental and computed ECD data.

The phytochemical study on Corydalis tomentella Franch, a traditional Chinese medicinal plant in Tibet, China, led to the isolation of six previously undescribed isoquinolines, including two rarely reported N-benzyl ones, and twenty-one known ones firstly obtained from this plant. Their planar structures were elucidated by 1D, 2D NMR experiments and high resolution mass spectrometry, and the absolute configurations were determined by NOE experiments, electronic circular dichroism, and specific rotation. Seven isoquinolines exhibited stronger hepatoprotective activities than that of positive control in D-galactosamine induced L02 cells damage model, which could be served as the leading compounds for further investigations.

Two previously uncharacterized potential broad-spectrum mercury (Hg) resistance operons (mer) are present on the chromosome of the soil Alphaproteobacteria Xanthobacter autotrophicus Py2. These operons, mer1 and mer2, contain two features which are commonly found in mer operons in the genomes of soil and marine Alphaproteobacteria, but are not present in previously characterized mer operons: a gene for the mercuric reductase (MerA) that encodes an alkylmercury lyase domain typical of those found on the MerB protein, and the presence of an additional gene, which we are calling merK, with homology to glutathione reductase. Here, we demonstrate that Py2 is resistant to 0.

Conventional chemotherapy against hepatocellular carcinoma typically causes various side effects. Our previous study showed that cecropin of Musca domestica can induce apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma BEL-7402 cells in vitro. However, whether cecropin inhibits BEL-7402 cell in vivo and the question of possible side effects remained undentified.

While the toxicological effects of mercury (Hg) are well studied in mammals, little is known about the mechanisms of toxicity to bacterial cells lacking an Hg resistance (mer) operon. We determined that Shewanella oneidensis MR-1 is more sensitive to ionic mercury [Hg(II)] under aerobic conditions than in fumarate reducing conditions, with minimum inhibitory concentrations of 0.25 and 2 μM respectively.
