Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a common postoperative complication of lung cancer, but the incidence and risk stratification of postoperative VTE in stage IA non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients remains unclear, therefore we conducted a single-center prospective study.

Methods: A total of 314 consecutive patients hospitalized for lung cancer surgery and diagnosed with stage IA NSCLC from January 2017 to July 2021 were included. The patients were divided into the VTE group and the non-VTE group according to whether VTE occurred after the operation.

Data on one-stop hybrid coronary revascularization (HCR) are limited. This study aimed to compare the early and midterm outcomes of one-stop HCR with off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB) in patients with multivessel coronary artery disease. From April 2018 to May 2021, 752 patients with multivessel coronary artery disease who underwent isolated one-stop HCR or OPCAB were retrospectively included in this analysis.

The optimal loading dose of clopidogrel in one-stop hybrid coronary revascularization (HCR) remains an "evidence-free" zone. This study aimed to compare the major bleeding and ischemic thrombotic events between different clopidogrel loading doses (300 vs. 600 mg) in one-stop HCR.

Article Synopsis
  • Hyperbilirubinemia is a frequent issue following off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCAB), occurring in 7.7% of patients studied.
  • The study analyzed data from 416 patients to identify key risk factors, using statistical methods to compare differences between those with normal bilirubin levels and those with hyperbilirubinemia.
  • Key risk factors linked to the development of hyperbilirubinemia included higher preoperative bilirubin levels, the need for blood transfusions during the procedure, and the use of intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support.

In this paper, a simple and effective fluorescence turn-on approach for highly sensitive and selective monitoring Hg ions was designed by using carbon dots (CDs) and silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). It reveals that the fluorescence of CDs solution can be quenched in the presence of AgNPs through inner filter effect (IFE) and the quenched CDs-AgNPs system is turned on after addition of Hg ions, which is due to higher affinity of Hg and AgNPs than that of CDs and AgNPs, thus resulting the disappearance of AgNPs from the CDs-AgNPs composites and leading to the fluorescence turn-on of CDs. The developed fluorescence turn-on approach exhibited high selectivity and sensitivity for detection of Hg.
