Monkeypox is known to be endemic in Africa, but recently, the unusually increasing number of cases of monkeypox in non-endemic countries has caught the attention of the world. The World Health Organization has declared the monkeypox outbreak a public health emergency. The spread pattern is unlikely associated with the previous outbreak outside of Africa, which is related to travelling or contact with exotic animals.

While the assessment of higher education systems is informative to both policy makers and individuals, it is subjective and performed according to experts' judgment. The present study proposes a relatively objective approach, hierarchical data envelopment analysis (H-DEA), to rank higher education systems. Unlike the subjective approach, H-DEA utilizes endogenous weight determination, allowing assessors to identify the relative importance of each attribute and subattribute.

A fully automated and accurate assay of rare cell phenotypes in densely-packed fluorescently-labeled liquid biopsy images remains elusive. Employing a hybrid artificial intelligence (AI) paradigm that combines traditional rule-based morphological manipulations with modern statistical machine learning, we deployed a next generation software, ALICE (Automated Liquid Biopsy Cell Enumerator) to identify and enumerate minute amounts of tumor cell phenotypes bestrewed in massive populations of leukocytes. As a code designed for futurity, ALICE is armed with internet of things (IOT) connectivity to promote pedagogy and continuing education and also, an advanced cybersecurity system to safeguard against digital attacks from malicious data tampering.

This study was to examine the kinematics, muscle activities, and perceived physical exertion in different regions of the spine during patient transfers by nursing students between a bed and a wheelchair, with or without a transfer belt in a laboratory setting. Results showed that with the effect of the belt, the % maximum voluntary contraction of the lumbar erector spinae was reduced significantly by nearly 10%. Muscle activity was significantly increased in thoracic erector and multifidus spinae during wheelchair-to-bed transfer, compared to bed-to-wheelchair transfers.

Adult granulosa cell tumors (AGCTs) of the ovary are molecularly characterized by the pathognomonic FOXL2 402C>G (C134W) mutation. To improve diagnostics and follow-up, we developed a specific digital droplet PCR (ddPCR) assay to detect the FOXL2 mutation in the circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) of AGCT patients. Laparoscopic donor nephrectomy has been broadly recognized as the gold standard for kidney procurement used in kidney transplantation where it is not uncommon for donors to experience discomfort and aesthetic dissatisfaction over larger incision site. Natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery is a surgical approach that allows scarless intraabdominal operations through natural orifices, such as the vagina. Paraneoplastic syndromes are rare first manifestations of breast cancer. In this report, we present two cases of a 58-year-old woman and a 69-year-old woman presenting with acute symptoms of paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) and dermatomyositis, respectively, as the first sign of breast malignancy. The patient diagnosed with PCD presented initially with ataxia, was serum anti-Yo antibody negative, and subsequently investigated to have poorly differentiated intraductal breast carcinoma.
