Background: To determine the optimal treatment modality for intracranial germinoma (IG).
Materials And Methods: A search of Medline, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Library was conducted up to April, 2024. Pooled risk ratio (RR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were calculated.
Background: The Internet has become a crucial tool for learning, socializing, and entertainment for contemporary minors, and plays an increasingly prominent role in their growth. However, it has been observed that students are often unable to make good judgments about online health information and barely use the Internet to help tackle their health problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between electronic health literacy (EHL) and general self-efficacy among Chinese primary and middle school students.

Thirty-two healthy adult SPF male SD rats, 8 ~ 10 weeks old, weight 240 ~ 260 g, were divided into four groups by the method of random number table (n = 8): sham group, I/R group, I/R + Fer-1 group, I/R + DFO group. In the I/R + Fer-1 group, ferristatin-1(5 mg /kg) was intraperitoneally injected 30 min before surgery; in the I/R + DFO group, DFO 100 mg/kg was injected intraperitoneally 1 h before operation and 12 h after operation.

Methods: Utilizing the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database, cases of SNAC from 2000 to 2020 were analyzed for incidence trends. Univariate and multivariate Cox regression models helped pinpoint factors impacting patient survival.
Primary central nervous system diffused large B-cell lymphoma (PCNS-DLBCL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma restricted to the central nervous system (CNS). To explore its specific pathogenesis and therapeutic targets, we performed multi-omics sequencing on tumor samples from patients diagnosed with PCNS-DLBCL, secondary CNS-DLBCL or extracranial (ec) DLBCL.By single-cell RNA sequencing, highly proliferated and dark zone (DZ)-related B cell subclusters, MKI67_B1, PTTG1_B2 and BTG1_B3, were predominant significantly in PCNS-DLBCL.

Background: High levels of histocompatibility minor 13 (HM13) have been related to the progression of several cancers. Here, we investigated the function of HM13 in colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: HM13 expression, clinicopathology analysis, and its influence on survival were analyzed in multiple public databases (TCGA, TIMER2.

Objectives: To examine age-specific trends and risk factors in the burden of women's cancers (WCs) in China from 1990 to 2019 to inform strategies.
Methods: Data were sourced from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 and World Population Prospects 2019. Time trends, age differences, and key factors for breast, cervical, and ovarian cancers (BC, CC, and OC) were analyzed based on age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) rate.
Focal cortical infarction can result both in the accumulation of Aβ in as well as further secondary damage and inflammation within the ipsilateral thalamus. VX-765 is a potent and selective small-molecule capable of inhibiting caspase-1, which has been shown to exhibit active neuroprotection properties in multiple disease. However, the neuroprotection efficacy of VX-765 as a means of attenuating secondary damage after MCAO remains uncertain.

With the continuous strengthening of environmental supervision and governance in China, the haze (O) weather mainly caused by PM pollution has gradually improved, while the emissions of invisible ozone pollutants have been increasing annually. In particular, the problem of near-ground ozone pollution is more crucial, which poses a severe threat to urban production, life, and health of people.

Methods: This multicenter, before-and-after self-controlled study was conducted across 8 centers from March 2022 to June 2023, involving patients with drug-resistant epilepsy who were undergoing responsive neurostimulation (RNS). The study was based on an ongoing multi-center, single-blind, randomized controlled study.
Large-scale proteomics studies can refine our understanding of health and disease and enable precision medicine. Here, we provide a detailed atlas of 2,920 plasma proteins linking to diseases (406 prevalent and 660 incident) and 986 health-related traits in 53,026 individuals (median follow-up: 14.8 years) from the UK Biobank, representing the most comprehensive proteome profiles to date.

Methods: We performed a multicenter, open-label, randomized trial in China, involving patients with symptomatic nonacute subdural hematoma with mass effect. Patients were assigned to undergo burr-hole drainage or receive nonsurgical treatment at the surgeon's discretion, and patients in each group were then randomly assigned, in a 1:1 ratio, to undergo middle meningeal artery embolization with liquid embolic material or to receive usual care.
Gliomas exhibit high heterogeneity and poor prognosis. Despite substantial progress has been made at the genomic and transcriptomic levels, comprehensive proteomic characterization and its implications remain largely unexplored. In this study, we perform proteomic profiling of gliomas using 343 formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tumor samples and 53 normal-appearing brain samples from 188 patients, integrating these data with genomic panel information and clinical outcomes.

The formation and release of volatile odors due to EGCG, TGase and EGCG/TGase synergistic cross-linking of surimi gels were investigated. The characteristic flavor components of the surimi gels were aldehydes.

This research focuses on substantiating the prognostic significance of using the SS II for patients experiencing concurrent chronic renal insufficiency (CRI) and CAD who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Methods: This study retrospectively examined 2468 patients with concurrent CAD and CRI who underwent PCI.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between parents' phubbing behavior and children's online gaming time. More importantly, we investigated the mediating role of electronic health literacy in this association.
Methods: A total of 1200 questionnaires were sent out and 1130 effective questionnaires were returned, an effective recovery of 94.
Background: Disorders of consciousness (DoC) are a group of conditions that affect the level of awareness and communication in patients. While neuroimaging techniques can provide useful information about the brain structure and function in these patients, most existing methods rely on a single modality for analysis and rarely account for brain injury. To address these limitations, we propose a novel method that integrates two neuroimaging modalities, functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), to enhance the classification of subjects into different states of consciousness.

Recurrence is one of the leading causes of death in glioma patients. The molecular mechanisms underlying glioma recurrence remain unclear.

We previously showed that sensitivity to the PARP7 inhibitor (PARP7i) RBN-2397 could be enhanced by cotreatment with agonists of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHRa) in cell lines that show strong intrinsic sensitivity to RBN-2397. In this study, we demonstrated that a range of tumor cell lines that are relatively insensitive to PARP7i or AHRa as individual agents are unexpectedly profoundly sensitive to their combination.

The non-canonical role of nucleotide enzymes remains poorly understood. In this study, we have identified that Phosphoglucomutase 2 (PGM2) rapidly accumulates at the DNA damage site to govern the DNA damage response mediated by the phosphorylation at Serine 165 and by forming a complex with Rho-associated coiled-coil-containing protein kinase 2 (ROCK2).
