Rationale: Transverse testicular ectopia (TTE) is a rare congenital malformation with a high rate of misdiagnosis and mistreatment before operation, which cannot be diagnosed even during operation due to lack of knowledge.
Patient Concerns: Two patients with ectopic testes who were misdiagnosed as right inguinal hernia for the first time and underwent surgery. The "ovary" and "testicle" like structures was seen in the right inguinal region during the first operation.

A novel fluorescent sensor was developed in this study based on glutathione-functionalized graphene quantum dots (GQDs@GSH) to detect organophosphorus pesticide residues in Radix Angelica Sinensis. GQDs@GSH was synthesized by a one-step pyrolysis method with a fluorescence quantum yield as high as 33.9% and its structure was characterized by transmission electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

This study aims to explore the effect of ATP on the growth and root quality of Angelica sinensis. To be specific, Mingui 1 was used, and through the pot(soil culture) experiment in the Dao-di producing area, the effects of conventional chemical fertilizer added with ATP on the morphology, photosynthesis, soil respiration, and content of ferulic acid and volatile oil in roots of Mingui 1 were detected.

Root and rhizome medicinal materials are widely used in clinical practice, whereas their wild resource reserves are insufficient to meet the market demand. With the expansion of planting areas, the formation of large-scale production areas, and the increase in planting years, diseases and insect pests of these medicinal plants, which are diverse and have broad transmission routes, strong concealment, and heavy damage, have become more and more serious.

Therefore, promoting the ecological planting of Chinese materia medica is the only way for the production of Chinese materia medica. Attapulgite(ATP) is a kind of water-rich magnesium-rich aluminosilicate clay mineral with layered and chain structure.

4-coumarate coenzyme A ligase is a key enzyme of phenylpropanoid metabolic pathway in higher plant and may regulate the biosynthesis of ferulic acid in Angelica sinensis. In this study, the homology-based cloning and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) technique were used to clone a full length cDNA encoding 4-coumarate coenzyme A ligase gene (4CL), and then qRT-PCR was taken for analyzing 4CL gene expression levels in the root, stem and root tissue at different growth stages of seedlings of A. sinensis.

To investigate morphine degradation and optimize turning frequency in opium poppy processing waste composting, a pilot scale windrow composting trial was run for 55 days. Four treatments were designed as without turning (A1), every 5 days turning (A2), every 10 days turning (A3) and every 15 days turning (A4). During composting, a range of physicochemical parameters including the residual morphine degradation, temperature, pH, and the contents of total C, total N, total P and total K were investigated.

Methods: There were six treatments, viz. T1: control (no fertilizer), T2: chemical fertilizer (the fertilizer rates for N, P2O5 and K2O were 90, 90 and 60 kg/hm2, respectively), T3:1 350 kg/hm2 CHMRC, 86 kg/hm2N, 84 kg/hm2 P2O5 and 52 kg/hm2 K2O, T4:2 250 kg/hm2 CHMRC, 83 kg/hm2N, 81 kg/hm2 P2O5 and 47 kg/hm2 K2O, T5: 3 150 kg/hm2 CHMRC, 82 kg/hm2N, 77 kg/hm2 P2O5 and 42 kg/hm2 K2O, and T6: CHMRC at 4 500 kg/hm2 (nitrogen application rate was the same as T2).
Aim: To determine the expression and clinical significance of transcriptional intermediary factor 1 gamma (TIF1γ), Smad4 and transforming growth factor-beta (TGFβR) across a spectrum representing colorectal cancer (CRC) development.
Methods: Tissue microarrays were prepared from archival paraffin embedded tissue, including 51 colorectal carcinomas, 25 tubular adenomas (TA) and 26 HPs, each with matched normal colonic epithelium. Immunohistochemistry was performed using antibodies against TIF1γ, Smad4 and TGFβRII.
