Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a highly disabling disease of the central nervous system, and seriously affects the patients' quality of life. A large number of studies have shown that programmed cell death (PCD) is an important pathological mechanism of secondary injury in SCI. As a non-drug therapy, acupuncture therapy has the characteristics of bidirectional, holistic and multi-level actions, which can target PCD pathways to play a neuroprotective effect, and has great potential in regulating PCD in the treatment of SCI.

Methods: Fifty-four SD rats were randomly divided into sham operation, model, and EA groups (=18 in each group), which were further divided into 3 d, 7 d and 14 d subgroups, with 6 rats at each time point. The SCI model was established according to the Allen's method.
The "brain electric field" therapy is a novel electroacupuncture method created by Professor to treat cerebral infarction in the recovery period. This therapy is suitable for the treatment of motor disorders, sensory disorders, cognitive disorders, hemianopsia and bulbar paralysis during the recovery period of cerebral infarction. Based on the different symptoms, the corresponding brain functional areas are selected, supplemented with Taiyang 2, Tunyan 2, Tiyan, Gongxue and Xiatianzhu.

The nervous, endocrine and immune systems are interconnected through neurotransmitters, endocrine hormones and cytokines, forming a neuro-endocrine-immune (NEI) network that outputs effect information to target organs in a multi-level and multi-system manner. The effects of acupuncture can be amplified through the NEI network, causing local microenvironment responses at acupoints to treat post-stroke depression (PSD). This paper systematically elucidates the mechanisms of acupuncture treatment for PSD from three aspects: nervous, endocrine and immune, and reveals the potential mechanisms and biological pathways of acupuncture treatment for PSD from an overall perspective based on the NEI network, aiming to provide a reliable theoretical basis for fundamental research on acupuncture treatment for PSD.

We aimed to explore whether there is a potential causal relationship between gut microbiota and migraine risk with this study.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomized analysis study to explore whether gut microbiota has a causal relationship with migraine using publicly available data from large-scale genome-wide association studies.

The academic thoughts of professor regarding the use of electroacupuncture in the treatment of dry eye are introduced. Professor believes that the occurrence of dry eye is mainly related to the stagnation of and blood in the eye meridians, leading to inadequate nourishment of the eyes. The acupuncture treatment principle focuses on promoting blood circulation, clearing and benefiting the eye orifices.

Objective: The study aims to investigate and visualize the hotspots of acupuncture for Allergic rhinitis (AR) over the past two decades and pinpoint future trends in this field.
Method: We conducted a systematic search of English-language articles or reviews on acupuncture for AR in the Web of Science Core Collection from 2002 to 2022. Using Citespace, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix, we analyzed and visualized the publications, countries, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords from various angles.
Evidence shows that acupuncture-moxibustion could promote the healing of pressure injuries (PI), but its action mechanism is not fully understood. This review summarizes the basic research literature of acupuncture-moxibustion for PI and identifies that the mechanism of acupuncture-moxibustion for PI is related with regulation of related signaling pathway target proteins, improvement of inflammatory response, modulation of vascular microenvironment, attenuation of oxidative stress damage, and inhibition of cell apoptosis. The review also points out the current limitations and future research directions.

Acupuncture therapy has been widely used in clinical treatment of allergic rhinitis (AR), and can induce a positive therapeutic effect through multi-targets and multi-aspects. In recent 10 years, the research on the mechanisms of acupuncture in treating AR mainly focused on humoral immunity, cellular immunity, cell apoptosis, inflammatory mediators and factors, neuropeptides, etc. By regulating the level of immunoglobulin in the blood, acupuncture intervention can restore the relative balance of cellular immune response, reduce the accumulation of eosinophils and promote apoptosis, down-regulate the expression of related inflammatory mediators and factors, regulate the excitability of related nerves, modulate the release of neuropeptides and other ways to diminish the inflammatory reaction of nasal mucosa, and enhance the repair and protection of nasal mucosa, relieve the nasal symptoms at last.

Cancer immunotherapy is a field of interest in the recent treatment approaches against cancer cells, as it could use the assets of the host's immune system against the invading tumor cells. In cancer immunotherapy, for a while, αβT cells play fundamental roles; however, their dependence on major histocompatibility complex (MHC), their ability to only recognize mutated peptides, as well as their low tropism to the tumor sites, especially in solid tumors, have put an obstacle on their way into the clinical settings. Currently, a renewed interest has focused on γδT cells -cells that act as a bridge between the innate and adaptive arm of the immune system- in cancer immunotherapy.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disease, and acupuncture has shown potential advantages in the treatment. By analyzing the experimental researches on acupuncture therapy of PD over the past 10 years, the authors find that acupuncture can play a therapeutic role by regulating multiple targets such as basal ganglia neurotransmitter disorder, oxidative stress, abnormal protein folding, immune inflammatory response, apoptosis, neural stem cells and calcium homeostasis. Although the mechanism of acupuncture in the treatment of PD is widely studied, there is still a lack of systematic, in-depth and high-quality research, and the mechanism of acupuncture therapy has not reached a consensus.
