To explore the immunomodulatory activity of polysaccharides from Ampelopsis grossedentata, two polysaccharides named AGP1 and AGP2 were isolated and purified by DEAE-cellulose 52 column and Sephacryl S-300HR chromatography. AGP1 and AGP2 were composed of fucose, arabinose, rhamnose, galactose, glucose, mannose, galacturonic acid, and glucuronic acid, with a ratio of 0.5: 10.

Alginate lyases, which degrade alginate into oligosaccharides, have broad applications in biorefinery, biomedical, and industrial fields. The Polysaccharide Lyase Family 7 (PL7) is particularly notable for its alginate lyase activity. In this study, two novel alginate lyases, PmAlg7A and PmAlg7B, from Pseudomonas mendocina E03 were cloned, heterologously expressed, and characterized.

Recent studies have shown that tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) play dual roles in both promoting and inhibiting tumor growth. TAMs not only contribute to tumor survival and metastasis but also impact the response to therapy.

The potential link between aberrations in placental Cyp11a1 expression and the resultant neurodevelopmental disorders, along with the mechanisms underpinning such associations, remains inadequately delineated. In this study, we employed a placental trophoblast-specific Cyp11a1 Hipp11 (H11) knock-in murine model to dissect the phenotypic manifestations within the placenta and progeny, thereby elucidating the underlying mechanistic pathways.

Chitin is the most productive nitrogen-containing polysaccharide in nature with immense potential for transforming into a range of chemicals. However, its dense crystal structure poses a challenge for depolymerization, limiting its applications. To overcome these challenges, a novel series of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) based on benzyltrimethylammonium chloride (TMBAC) as the hydrogen bond acceptor was developed.

The quick, non-destructive assessment of chlorophyll content in rice leaves can optimize nitrogen fertilization, benefit the environment and economy, and improve rice production management and quality. In this research, spectral analysis of rice leaves is performed using hyperspectral and fluorescence spectroscopy for the detection of chlorophyll content in rice leaves.

In this study, we isolated and characterized the alkali-insoluble residue on the inner layers of the Rhizoctonia solani AG1 IA cell wall (RsCW-AIR). Through chemical composition and structural analysis, RsCW-AIR was mainly identified as a complex of chitin/chitosan and glucan (ChCsGC), with glucose and glucosamine were present in a molar ratio of 2.

The Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) is the most frequently utilized tool for evaluating the severity of psoriasis in clinical practice. Nevertheless, long-term monitoring and precise evaluation pose difficulties for dermatologists and patients, which is time-consuming, subjective and prone to evaluation bias.

Objectives: To study the risk factors of poor wound healing after primary cleft palate surgery.
Methods: In this study, 980 cases of congenital cleft palate treated by Sommerlad-Furlow in the Department of Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery of Sichuan University from 2017 to 2021 were continuously analyzed. Indicators included patient's age, gender, body weight, cleft palate type, width of the widest fistula, cleft palate index (width of the widest fistula/width at the posterior edge of the maxillary tubercle plane), preoperative white blood cell count, preoperative hemoglobin level, preoperative antibiotic use, doctor's seniority, use of relaxation incision, operation time, postoperative upper respiratory tract infection, and postoperative wound healing.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Liujunzi formula has been used to treat liver cancer in China for many years, but its underlying mechanism remains unclear. We previously found that decreased expression of miR-122-3p was associated with liver cancer. In this study, we aimed to explore the target of miR-122-3p and the effect of the Liujunzi formula on miR-122-3p and its downstream events in liver cancer.

The increase in oxidative stress could lead to an imbalance between osteoblasts-mediated osteogenesis and osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, which gives rise to osteoporosis. Nrf2 is a master transcription factor that regulates oxidative stress and has recently been reported to take part in the development of osteoporosis.
