Aim: To compare the accuracy and treatment time of a robotic system (RS) and a dynamic navigation system (DNS) in osteotomy and root-end resection in an in vitro study.

Methodology: In this study, four identical mandibular models were created using three-dimensional (3D) printing, each model including 18 teeth. In the surgical procedures, teeth #35, #33, #32, #42, #43 and #45, along with the mesiobuccal roots of teeth #36 and #46, were specifically selected for operation on each model.

The purpose of this technical report is to demonstrate a fully digital workflow for designing and fabricating metal frameworks and removable partial dentures. After obtaining a digital cast of the dental arch with bilateral distal extension defect, computer-aided design software and 3D printing technology are used for the design and fabrication of the removable partial denture frameworks, denture teeth, and denture bases, instead of the traditional workflow. The assembly of the three components is facilitated through a meticulously structured framework.

Developing a self-expanding hemostatic sponge with high blood absorption and rapid shape recovery for noncompressible hemorrhage remains a challenge. In this study, a 3D-printed cuttlefish bone elastomeric sponge (CBES) is fabricated, which combined ordered channels and porous structures, presented tunable mechanical strength, and shape memory potentials. The incorporation of cuttlefish bone powder (CBp) plays key roles in concentrating blood components, promoting aggregation of red blood cells and platelets, and activating platelets, which makes CBES show enhanced hemostatic performance compared with commercial gelatin sponges in vivo.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) exacerbates irreversible bone loss in periodontitis, but the mechanism of impaired bone regeneration caused by the abnormal metabolic process of T2DM remains unclear. Exosomes are regarded as the critical mediator in diabetic impairment of regeneration via organ or tissue communication. Here, we find that abnormally elevated exosomes derived from metabolically impaired liver in T2DM are significantly enriched in the periodontal region and induced pyroptosis of periodontal ligament cells (PDLCs).
