Pathological ocular angiogenesis is a significant cause of irreversible vision loss and blindness worldwide. Currently, most studies have focused on the angiogenesis factors in ocular vascular diseases, and very few endogenous anti-angiogenic compounds have been found. Moreover, although inflammation is closely related to the predominant processes involved in angiogenesis, the mechanisms by which inflammation regulates pathological ocular angiogenesis remain obscure.

A novel vapor-solid phase chemical conversion process is reported here to synthesise high-quality films of the conductive coordination polymer (c-CP) AgBHT (BHT = benzenehexanothiolate), which has the potential to be applied for the synthesis and processing of c-CP electronic devices. This approach involves reacting a silver oxide precursor and an HBHT linker in an isopropanol solvent vapor atmosphere to obtain AgBHT thin films with controllable thickness (100-300 nm). The as-synthesized AgBHT thin films exhibit conductivities as high as 10 S cm.

In this paper, a facile hydrothermal pretreatment and molten salt activation route was presented for preparing a self-doped porous biochar (HMBC) from a nitrogenous biomass precursor of water hyacinth. With an ultrahigh specific surface area (2240 m g), well-developed hierarchical porous structure, created internal structural defects and doped surface functionalities, HMBC exhibited an excellent adsorption performance and catalytic activity for phenol removal via peroxydisulfate (PDS) activation. Specifically, the porous structure promoted the adsorption of PDS on HMBC, forming a highly active HMBC/PDS* complex and thereby increasing the oxidation potential of the system.

Understanding how applied voltage drives the electrocatalytic reaction at the nanoscale is a fundamental scientific problem, particularly in non-metallic electrocatalysts, due to their low intrinsic carrier concentration. Herein, using monolayer molybdenum disulfide (MoS) as a model system of non-metallic catalyst, the potential drops across the basal plane of MoS (ΔV) and the electric double layer (ΔV) are decoupled quantitatively as a function of applied voltage through surface potential microscopy. We visualize the evolution of the band structure under liquid conditions and clarify the process of E keeping moving deep into E, revealing the formation process of the electrolyte gating effect.

Conductive coordination polymers (c-CPs) are promising electrode materials for supercapacitors (SCs) owing to their excellent conductivity, designable structures and dense redox sites. However, despite their high intrinsic density and outstanding electrical properties, nonporous c-CPs have largely been overlooked in SCs because of their low specific surface areas and deficient ion-diffusion channels. Herein, we demonstrate that the nonporous c-CPs AgBHT (BHT = benzenehexathiolate) and CuAgBHT are both battery-type capacitor materials with high specific capacitances and a large potential window.

We developed a microfluidic chip integrated with nucleic acid purification and droplet-based digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR) modules to realize a 'sample-in, result-out' infectious virus diagnosis. The whole process involved pulling magnetic beads through drops in an oil-enclosed environment. The purified nucleic acids were dispensed into microdroplets by a concentric-ring, oil-water-mixing, flow-focusing droplets generator driven under negative pressure conditions.
