Background: This study examined the latent factor structures and psychometric properties of three brief versions of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS)-DERS-SF, DERS-18, and DERS-16-across large-scale samples of the Korean population.

Methods: Participants from two independent community samples (N = 862 and N = 1,242) completed an online self-report survey, including brief versions of the DERS and associated measures. Confirmatory factor analyses were employed to examine the latent factor structures of the brief versions of the DERS with comparable models.

We used deep learning methods to develop an AI model capable of autonomously delineating cancerous regions in digital pathology images (H&E-stained images). By using a transgenic brain tumor model derived from the TS13-64 brain tumor cell line, we digitized a total of 187 H&E-stained images and annotated the cancerous regions in these images to compile a dataset. A deep learning approach was executed through DEEP:PHI, which abstracts Python coding complexities, thereby simplifying the execution of AI training protocols for users.

The current study aimed to determine whether () extract (SIE) exerts anti-obesity potentials employing 3T3-L1 cells as in vitro model. Herein we reported that treatment of SIE for 6 days reduced lipid accretion and triglyceride content whereas it increased the release of free glycerol. The inhibited lipid accumulation and induced lipolysis were evidenced by the downregulation of lipogenesis proteins, such as fatty acid synthase and lipoprotein lipase, and the upregulation of hormone-sensitive lipase expression.

The accumulation of methylglyoxal (MGO) produced in high-temperature processed foods and excessive production in the body contributes to intestinal barrier dysfunction. In this study, we investigated the effects of chitooligosaccharides (COSs) of different molecular weights (<1 kDa, 1-3 kDa, 3-5 kDa, 5-10 kDa, and >10 kDa) on MGO-induced intestinal barrier dysfunction. The present study aims to explore the probable anti-adipogenesis effect of () in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes by regulating heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1). The extract of retarded lipid accretion and decreased triglyceride (TG) content in 3T3-L1 adipocytes but increased free glycerol levels. Treatment with the extract inhibited lipogenesis by inhibiting protein expressions of fatty acid synthase (FAS) and lipoprotein lipase (LPL), whereas lipolysis increased by activating phosphorylation of hormone-sensitive lipase (p-HSL) and AMP-activated protein kinase (p-AMPK).

In this study, we investigated the use of Bi-mna, a specific type of bismuth metal organic framework (MOF) for the capture and disposal of iodine, a key nuclide of concern in nuclear fuel reprocessing plants and nuclear power plants. To find the suitable form of Bi-mna for the purpose, experiments were performed by synthesizing four different Bi-mna with varying reagent ratios and connecting iodine adsorption and conversion for immobilization. After iodine adsorption and characterization to investigate their adsorption mechanisms, the Bi-mna samples went through conversion for immobilization to fix captured iodine into the adsorbents.
