Hydrogen sulfide (HS), an endogenous gasotransmitter, plays a key role in several critical physiological and pathological processes in vivo, including vasodilation, anti-infection, anti-tumor, anti-inflammation, and angiogenesis. In colorectal cancer (CRC), aberrant overexpression of HS-producing enzymes has been observed. Due to the important role of HS in the proliferation, growth, and death of cancer cells, HS can serve as a potential target for cancer therapy.

Many quantum algorithms rely on the measurement of complex quantum amplitudes. Standard approaches to obtain the phase information, such as the Hadamard test, give rise to large overheads due to the need for global controlled-unitary operations. We introduce a quantum algorithm based on complex analysis that overcomes this problem for amplitudes that are a continuous function of time.

To increase the residual stress stability of Au films while reducing the residual stress level, the effect of deposition temperature on long-term residual stress evolution of Au films under different conditions were studied. Au films with a thickness of 360 nm were deposited using e-beam evaporation on fused silica under different temperatures. Observations and comparisons were made of the microstructures of Au films deposited under different temperatures.

We combine matrix product operator techniques with Chebyshev polynomial expansions and present a method that is able to explore spectral properties of quantum many-body Hamiltonians. In particular, we show how this method can be used to probe thermalization of large spin chains without explicitly simulating their time evolution, as well as to compute full and local densities of states. The performance is illustrated with the examples of the Ising and PXP spin chains.

Objective: The aim of the present study was to examine whether Dai-Huang-Fu-Zi-Tang (DHFZT) could regulate mitochondrial permeability transition pore (MPTP) of intestinal mucosa epithelial cells for alleviating intestinal injury associated with severe acute pancreatitis (SAP).

Purpose: To provide a computer-aided visualization tool for accurate diagnosis and quantification of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) on the basis of fluorescence leakage characteristics.

Methods: All image frames of a fluorescein angiography (FA) sequence are first aligned and mapped to a global space. To automatically determine the severity of each pixel in the global space and hence the extent of CNV, the system matches the intensity variation of each set of spatially corresponding pixels across the sequence with the targeted leakage pattern, learned from a sampled population graded by a retina specialist.
