Size uniformity in colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) critically influences their electronic properties. However, achieving precise size control remains challenging for mercury chalcogenide systems. We demonstrate that a postsynthetic reheating treatment with the addition of dodecanethiol (DDT) ligands, consistent with a digestive ripening mechanism, effectively narrows the size distribution of HgTe CQDs from 12% to 6%, accompanied by enhanced crystallinity and sharper absorption features.

TNBC has been recognized as estrogen-independent breast cancer, while the novel estrogen receptor, namely G protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER), was claimed to mediate estrogenic actions in TNBC tissues and cell lines. Through mRNA microarrays, lncRNA microarrays, and bioinformatics analysis, we found that GPER is activated by 17β-estradiol (E2) and GPER-specific agonist G1, which downregulates a novel lncRNA (termed as lncRNA-Glu).

Despite pre-exposure prophylaxis's (PrEP) efficacy for HIV prevention, uptake has been low among women with substance use disorders (SUDs) and attributed to women's lack of awareness. In semistructured interviews with 20 women with SUD and 15 key stakeholders at drug treatment centers, we assessed PrEP awareness and health-related decision-making. Women often misestimated their own HIV risk and were not aware of PrEP as a personally relevant option.

Citrate, a substance being related to de novo fatty acid synthesis and tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, has a pivotal role in cell survival. However, the molecular mechanisms that regulate intracellular citrate in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), especially under hypoxic condition, remain poorly understood. Here we find that hypoxia (1% O) induces DNA damage-independent ATM activation (oxidized ATM) and suppression of oxidized ATM reduces intracellular citrate via decreasing the levels of phosphofructokinase (PFKP) and citrate synthase (CS), two key glucose metabolism-associated enzymes.

Methods: Autophagic activities of renal tissues of patients with LN were evaluated under transmission electronic microscope (TEM). Immunoglobulin G (IgG) from patients with LN was purified to induce human podocyte injury, and the role of vitamin D in injury was observed.
