Anti-cancer effects of a newly-synthesized palladium(II) complex, [Pd(sac)(terpy)](sac)·4H(2)O (sac = saccharinate, and terpy = 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine), were tested against human breast cancer cell lines, MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231. The Pd complex had a strong anti-growth effect in a dose- and time-dependent manner in vitro. This effect was also confirmed by the experiment performed on Balb/c mice in vivo.

With our study, safety of hem-o-lock clip use at donor nephrectomies (conventional donor nephrectomy, transabdominal donor nephrectomy and retroperitonoscopic donor nephrectomy) has been evaluated.
Material/method: A total of 883 cases, consisting of conventional donor nephrectomy, transabdominal donor nephrectomy and retroperitonoscopic donor nephrectomy, performed between May 2006 and August 2009 were retrospectively evaluated.
Five BVDV species 2 (BVDV-2) isolates were detected from cattle in Turkey. Phylogenetic analysis was performed based on the 5' untranslated regions (UTRs) and E2 coding gene regions, respectively. The isolates were closely related to BVDV-2a strains from North America and Canada used as references.
