Background: The treatment of persistent syringomyelia associated with Chiari malformation type 1 (CM1) is unclear. This study aims to evaluate the clinical and radiologic outcomes of syringo-subarachnoid shunt (SSS) as a treatment for persistent syringomyelia following posterior fossa decompression (PFD) for CM1.

Methods: Forty-nine cases treated for CM1 associated syringomyelia at a single center were analyzed, 17 of them undergoing reoperation due to persistent syrinx formation.

The childhood interstitial lung diseases (chILD) Turkey registry (chILD-TR) was established in November 2021 to increase awareness of disease, and in collaboration with the centers to improve the diagnostic and treatment standards. Here, the first results of the chILD registry system were presented. In this prospective cohort study, data were collected using a data-entry software system.

Copper oxide nanoparticles (CuONPs) are used in many fields from electronics to medicine due to their multifunctionality, and therefore, their production with environmentally friendly methods is a current issue. In this study, biofabricated CuONPs were obtained by using the leaf extract of plant originating from the Far East to enlighten the characteristics of the novel nanoparticles differentiating from those existing in the literature. Multifunctional nature of the CuONPs was evaluated by the antibacterial, antifungal, and decolorative applications and also by performing molecular docking analysis.

The impact of environmental factors on epigenetic changes is well established, and cellular function is determined not only by the genome but also by interacting partners such as metabolites. Given the significant impact of metabolism on disease progression, exploring the interaction between the metabolome and epigenome may offer new insights into Huntington's disease (HD) diagnosis and treatment. Using fourteen post-mortem HD cases and fourteen control subjects, we performed metabolomic profiling of human postmortem brain tissue (striatum and frontal lobe), and we performed DNA methylome profiling using the same frontal lobe tissue.
