Primitive myxoid mesenchymal tumor of infancy (PMMTI) is a rare soft tissue tumor that has been recently described in only a few cases. A 10-month-old boy was admitted with a mass filling the abdomen and right hemothorax. Gross examination revealed a fragile, and occasionally gelatinous and rubbery mass.

Context: Fetuin-A is a multifunctional protein and is known to be related to metabolic syndrome, vascular calcification, and inflammation.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of serum fetuin-A levels on autoimmune thyroiditis without thyroid dysfunction.
Subjects And Methods: This prospective case-control study was performed at the pediatric endocrinology outpatient clinic of a tertiary health institution in Istanbul, Turkey between July 2022 and October 2022.
The limitation of conventional packaging in demonstrating accurate and real-time food expiration dates leads to food waste and foodborne diseases. Real-time food quality monitoring via intelligent packaging could be an effective solution to reduce food waste and foodborne illnesses. This review focuses on recent technological advances incorporated into food packaging for monitoring food spoilage, with a major focus on paper-based sensors and their combination with smartphone.

This study was aimed to identify potential changes in Akkermansia within the gut microbiota of PD patients in Türkiye. For this purpose, shotgun metagenomics and a novel Akkermansia genus-specific amplicon sequencing technique was used to investigate the presence of specific Akkermansia strains associated with cognitive impairment (CI) stages in PD and to examine potential genes within these strains.

Identification of PD patients at risk of developing cognitive decline, therefore, is unmet need in the clinic to manage the disease. Previous studies reported that oral microbiota of PD patients was altered even at early stages and poor oral hygiene is associated with dementia.

Pregnancy-specific beta-1-glycoprotein (PSG-1) is a protein that plays a critical role in fetomaternal immune modulation and has been shown to be closely associated with pregnancy adverse events such as preeclampsia. It is also known that PSG-1 and its source placenta are associated with many molecular pathways associated with blood pressure regulation.

Methods: The study was conducted with 30 patients who were admitted to the contact lens department.
The aims of the this study are to select the best cultivation type for plant growth regulator (PGR) production, to optimize PGR production with statistical experimental design, and to calculate bioprocess parameters and yield factors during PGR production by in flask and reactor scales. Submerged fermentation was the best cultivation type with 4438.67 ± 37.

In the current study, we analyzed immunohistochemical (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) features of GCs and evaluated their association with prognosis and clinicopathological features.
Materials And Methods: Three hundred cases analyzed by IHC and ISH for microsatellite stability, p53, e-cadherin, HER2, PD-L1 expression, and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) status.
Purpose: Blood transfusion; is considered an organ transplant. In coronary bypass surgery, large volumes of homologous blood transfusion may be required due to excessive bleeding. The large number of use of homologous blood transfusion in open heart surgery and the awareness of its various harmful effects have prompted researchers to conduct research on the use of autologous blood.

Methods: Data from160 patients diagnosed with acute DVT between January 2012 and May 2021 and treated and followed up in our clinic were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into three groups according to treatment method.
Carotenoids act as effective antioxidant defense systems in humans as they scavenge molecular oxygen and peroxyl radicals. However, their poor water solubility and being susceptible to degradation driven by light and oxygen hinder their bioactivity, therefore, they should be stabilized by host matrices against oxidation. Here, β-carotene was encapsulated in electrospun cyclodextrin (CD) nanofibers to increase its water-solubility and photostability to enhance its antioxidant bioactivity.

Materials And Methods: Laboratory patient data between August and December 2021 were evaluated for the study. A total of 188,912 patients with TSH, fT4, fT3, anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies (Anti-TPO) and anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (Anti-Tg) results were evaluated.
Introduction: Our study aimed to examine the impacts of blood cardioplegia (BC) and del Nido cardioplegia (DNC) solutions - which we used in isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) - on early mortality and major adverse events (MAE).
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 329 consecutive patients who underwent CABG in our clinic between January 2016 and January 2020. Myocardial infarction, reoperation, cardiac tamponade, stroke, renal failure, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation requirement, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation were defined as MAE.
Objective: The study aimed to examine whether alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT), an inhibitor of leukocyte esterase(LE), which damages the venous vessel wall, has a protective effect against chronic venous disease(CVD), and to examine the relationship between AAT levels and disease severity.
Methods: Patients admitted with varicose vein disease and having reflux flow lasting longer than 0.5 s as determined by Doppler ultrasound were included.

Objectives: Studies which report cystatin C's (Cys-C) role in immunological disorders are increasing. However, data in the pediatric age group is limited. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the association between serum Cys-C levels and thyroid autoantibodies in children and adolescents diagnosed with euthyroid Hashimoto's thyroiditis.

Cognitive impairment (CI) is among the most common non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD), with a substantially negative impact on patient management and outcome. The development and progression of CI exhibits high interindividual variability, which requires better diagnostic and monitoring strategies. PD patients often display sweating disorders resulting from autonomic dysfunction, which has been associated with CI.
