Neuroinflammation impacts on the progression of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurodegenerative disorder. Specialized pro-resolving mediators trigger the resolution of inflammation. We investigate the specialized pro-resolving mediator blood profile and their receptors' expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells in relation to survival in ALS.

Trastuzumab and radiotherapy are standard treatments for patients with HER-2 + breast cancer, but they may increase the risk of cardiotoxicity.
Aim: This study aimed to assess early cardiotoxicity in patients receiving radiotherapy (RT) and concurrent trastuzumab.
Following the results of the phase 3 KEYNOTE-522 trial, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved pembrolizumab, a humanized IgG4 kappa monoclonal antibody, in combination with neoadjuvant chemotherapy as a new standard of care for high-risk early-stage triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).

Materials And Methods: The study was conducted retrospectively with the participation of researchers from universities or training and research hospitals. It included patients with chronic hepatitis C who were over 18 years of age, treatment-naïve or treatment-experienced, had detectable HCV RNA and were receiving glecaprevir/pibrentasvir treatment.
Aim: Ultrasound-guided percutaneous core needle biopsy is an important technique in diagnosing mesenteric involvement. Diagnostic results were compared with pre-biopsy CT findings. The purpose of this study was to determine the diagnostic efficiency of omental lesion biopsies performed under ultrasound guidance and to investigate the relationship between pre-biopsy diagnostic CT findings.

The aim of this study is to share our sentinel lymph node detection rates via the vaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery method with the literature and to demonstrate a safer and more comfortable surgical treatment process.
Methods: The analysis includes the patients who underwent surgery sentinel lymph node dissection for endometrial cancer utilizing indociyanin green in our center between January 2022 and June 2024.
Introduction: Lorlatinib is a potent third-generation anaplastic lymphoma kinase/c-ros oncogene 1 (ALK)/ROS1 oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has broad coverage of acquired resistance mutations and is currently indicated for the treatment of adult patients with metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) whose tumors are ALK-positive.
Case Report: In this case, we aimed to present the safety and effectiveness of lorlatinib use in a patient diagnosed with ALK-positive metastatic NSCLC who underwent hemodialysis 3 days a week.
Management & Outcome: A 76-year-old female patient has been undergoing regular hemodialysis for about 2 years.

Background: This study aims to evaluate the accuracy and quality of prehospital assessments and preliminary diagnoses made by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers compared to the final diagnoses given by Emergency Department physicians in a metropolitan area.
Methods: This retrospective observational study utilized records from the Yenimahalle EMS Command Center in Ankara, Türkiye, from January 1, 2021, to December 31, 2022. Data were recorded as cases rather than individual patients, with repeated EMS admissions counted separately.
Introduction: The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is an easily calculable indicator of endothelial dysfunction. We aimed to evaluate the effect of the TyG index on treatment response in patients using tadalafil for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED).
Methods: The data of patients who used tadalafil for ED in our urology clinic between January 2018 and January 2023 were reviewed.
Background: The evidence regarding perioperative adjuvant chemotherapy and personalized surveillance strategies for upper tract urothelial carcinoma is limited.
Objective: To evaluate whether adjuvant gemcitabine containing chemotherapy affects the oncological outcomes of advanced upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC).
Methods: The CROES-UTUC registry is an observational, international, multi-center study on patients diagnosed with UTUC.
Oscillations in the chemical or physical properties of materials, composed of an odd or even number of connected repeating methylene units, are a well-known phenomenon in organic chemistry and materials science. So far, such behavior has not been reported for the important class of materials, perovskite semiconductors. This work reports a distinct odd-even oscillation of the molecular structure and charge carrier transport properties of phenylalkylammonium two-dimensional (2D) Sn-based perovskites in which the alkyl chains in the phenylalkylammonium cations contain varying odd and even carbon numbers.

Background: This second harvest of the Congenital Heart Surgery Database intended to compare current results with international databases.
Methods: This retrospective study examined a total of 4007 congenital heart surgery procedures from 15 centers in the Congenital Heart Surgery Database between January 2018 and January 2023. International diagnostic and procedural codes were used for data entry.
Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are the most common obstructive diseases. Based on the similarities, we aimed to evaluate sinonasal symptoms in patients with asthma or COPD, and compare the two diseases with regard to upper-airway involvement. Patients with asthma or with COPD who were followed up at Ankara University Immunology and Allergy or Chest Diseases Departments were included in the study.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the direct relaxant effects of anandamide and its possible mechanisms in isolated rat bladder and vas deferens tissues.
Methods: Twenty-one adult male Wistar albino rats were used.
Phosphate homeostasis is essential for all living organisms. Low-affinity phosphate transporters are involved in phosphate import and regulation in a range of eukaryotic organisms. We have determined the structures of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae phosphate importer Pho90 by electron cryomicroscopy in two complementary states at 2.

In this study, it was aimed to determine the prevalence, risk factors, and clinical features of ACO because there are limited national data in Türkiye.
Materials And Methods: The study was conducted in a cross-sectional design in nine tertiary-care hospitals.

April 2024
The aim of this study was to investigate the role of cannabinoid (CB1) receptors on airway inflammation and hypersensitivity in allergic asthma and the potential interactions with TRPV1 channels. BALB/c mice were sensitized and provoked with ovalbumin to create a model of allergic asthma. CB1 selective agonist arachidonoyl 2'-chloroethylamide (ACEA) was administered intraperitoneally at doses of 0.
