Context: Osteonecrosis (ON) is bone death caused by inadequate blood supply and its optimal management remains uncertain.
Objective: We describe the outcomes of BP (pamidronate) treatment in our patients.
Design: Data regarding clinical, laboratory, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies, and bone mineral density measurements (BMD) were recorded before and one year after treatment (reevaluation).
Background: As voiding cystourethrography is invasive and exposes to radiation and urinary tract infection (UTI), identifying only high-grade reflux is important. We aimed to identify clinical, laboratory and imaging variables associated with high-grade primary reflux in children presenting with UTIs and/or urinary tract dilatation and develop a prediction model for severe reflux.
Methods: Data of children who underwent voiding cystourethrography due to UTI and/or urinary tract dilatation were retrospectively analyzed for demographic, clinical and imaging findings.
Background: Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a motor neuron disease caused by mutations in the SMN1 gene. Nusinersen, an antisense oligonucleotide, has been shown to improve motor function in SMA patients. However, concerns regarding its renal safety remain as previous studies have linked similar treatments to renal toxicity.

In a serendipitous discovery, we identified atrial enlargement, fibrosis, and thrombi in mice with reduced phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) in cardiomyocytes. PI3K(p110α) is elevated in the heart with exercise and is critical for exercise-induced ventricular enlargement and protection, but the role in the atria was unknown.

Plasmalogen levels can be modulated via a dietary supplement called alkylglycerols (AG) which has demonstrated benefits in some disease settings. However, its therapeutic potential in DCM remained unknown.

Methods: Patients with unilateral radicular pain and disc pathology were randomly assigned to either the preganglionic group or the preganglionic plus postganglionic group. All patients were evaluated using a numeric rating scale (NRS) and a patient satisfaction scale (PSS) at the third week and the third month after treatment.
Purpose: The characteristics of patients with bilateral and unilateral breast cancer at the time of diagnosis or during follow-up have been compared, focusing on the differences in disease-free survival and overall survival between these groups.
Methods: A total of 1,947 patients diagnosed with invasive carcinoma were included in the study. 1876 (96.

The circadian cycle is a fundamental biological rhythm that governs many physiological functions across nearly all living organisms. In the gastrointestinal tract, activities such as gut motility, hormone synthesis, and communication between the gut, central nervous system and microbiome all fluctuate in alignment with the circadian cycle. The enteric nervous system (ENS) is critical for co-ordinating many of these activities, however, how its activity is governed by the circadian cycle remains unknown.

This study investigates the impact of slot jet reattachment (SJR) nozzle and ultrasound (US) combined drying (SJR + US) on sweet potato quality, compared to freeze-drying (FD), SJR drying, and hot air drying (HAD). SJR + US drying at 50 °C closely resembled FD in enhancing quality attributes and outperformed HAD and SJR in key areas such as rehydration, shrinkage ratios, and nutritional composition.

The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between genetic changes that cause renal ciliopathies and phenotypic outcomes. The study group consisted of 137 patients diagnosed with renal ciliopathy disease.

Objective: The present study aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool to determine patients' comfort levels during the injection procedure.
Objectives: This study aimed to compare the treatment outcomes between dorsal root ganglion (DRG) pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) and DRG PRF plus transforaminal epidural steroid injection (TFESI) in patients with chronic lumbosacral radicular pain.
Patients And Methods: Eighty-one patients (39 males, 42 females; mean age: 57.5±11.
Its angular representation on the retina does not solely determine the perceived size of an object. Instead, contextual information is interpreted. We investigated the levels of processing at which this interpretation occurs.

New FOXM1-specific inhibitors with the potential to be used for therapeutic purposes are under extensive research. We hypothesized that deacetylation of FOXM1 would decrease protein expression, thus providing novel therapeutic management of colon cancers. Immunostaining was used to determine FOXM1 and SIRT2 expressions in human colon cancer tissue microarrays (n = 90) from Stage I to Stage IV.

This study aimed to evaluate the impact of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) on pediatric oncology nurses' stress levels, as well as the psychosocial symptoms and care satisfaction of pediatric oncology patients. A non-randomized prospective study with a pretest-posttest design was conducted, involving 112 children and 8 pediatric oncology nurses between November 2021 and August 2022.

However, there is no study in which patients were followed up with serial CRP without kidney biopsy. We evaluated the significance of CRP levels in predicting the clinical course of D-ATIN in children.

Methods: The data of patients with trigeminal neuralgia who underwent US-guided maxillary and/or mandibular nerve PRF between September 2022 and December 2023 were reviewed and the study was retrospectively designed. Good analgesia was defined as ≥ 50% reduction in pain score at 3 months after the procedure, and the demographic and clinical characteristics of the patients were assessed.
