Objective: The aim of this study is to trace the possible relations between the hygienic status of slicing utensils and the microbiological quality of pastrami.
Study Design: A total of 75 pastrami retail markets were visited in Kayseri, Turkey, where the pastrami (a ready-to-eat meat product) is commonly produced and consumed. Sliced pastrami, the cutting board and knife surface swabs were collected from each pastrami retail point to trace possible sources of contamination.
. To report the visual, refractive, and corneal topography and wavefront aberration results of accelerated corneal cross-linking (CXL) during a 24-month follow-up. .

The aim of this study was to investigate the possible role of ethyl pyruvate (EP) in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats' kidney. Four groups (n = 8) of male Wistar albino rats were used as follows: control group rats received only sodium citrate buffer solution intraperitoneally (ip).

Objectives: To evaluate two-year results of small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) for correction of high myopia.
Materials And Methods: Forty-five eyes of 35 patients with mean spherical equivalent (SE) of -7.10±0.
Objectives: To evaluate the effect of adjuvant intracameral triamcinolone acetonide (TA) on the surgical results of trabeculectomy with mitomycin C.
Materials And Methods: All consecutive trabeculectomy cases performed in the glaucoma clinic between July 2012 and December 2013 were retrospectively reviewed from the patient charts. Only those with follow-up of 12 months or longer were included.

However, duration of the ototoxic effect is shortened and severity of the effect is increased as dose and duration of Ap administration is increased.
Objectives: While Ap toxicity has been studied in short- and long-term studies, its effects on hearing have not been investigated.
Introduction: This study showed that short and long interval treatments achieved comparable success rates. There was no statistically significant difference in the rate of early and late recurrences between the two groups. Modified Epley maneuver can be applied in a short interval time with comparable success and recurrence rates which are as effective as in a long interval time.

Materials And Methods: We retrospectively examined 42 eyes of 23 patients undergoing PRK and 42 eyes of 22 patients undergoing SMILE for the correction of low and moderate myopia. Corneal hysteresis (CH) and corneal resistance factor (CRF) were measured with an Ocular Response Analyzer before and 6 months after surgery.
Objectives: In this study we aimed to compare the sensitivity of blue-light fundus autofluorescence (FAF) and near-infrared autofluorescence (NI-AF) imaging for determining the progression rates of macular lesions in dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Materials And Methods: The study was designed retrospectively and included patients diagnosed with intermediate and advanced stage dry AMD. Best corrected visual acuities and FAF and NI-AF images were recorded in 46 eyes of 33 patients.
Background: Standard treatment for ovarian epithelial cancer (OEC) consists of cytoreductive surgery (CRS) and a platinum-taxane chemotherapy combination. There is increasing interest in evaluating hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) in patients with stage IIIC/IV disease. The peritoneal surface disease severity score (PSDSS) was introduced as a basis to improve patient selection for this therapy in OEC.

SMILE can be performed for the treatment of myopia ≤-12 D and astigmatism ≤5 D. The technology is currently only available in the VisuMax femtosecond laser platform.

Material And Methods: Thirty-four patients who were operated on for UPSC and CC carcinoma at the İzmir Tepecik Research and Teaching Hospital, between January 1983 and December 2014, were included. Patients were evaluated for the following factors: age, gravidity, parity, preoperative CA-125, tumor size, myometrial and lymphovascular invasion, lymph node tumor metastasis, presence of atypical cells in peritoneal cytology, pathology results, operation types, whether or not they received postoperative adjuvant therapy, prognosis, and death rate.
Objectives: To determine the short-term effects of adjuvant or primary curative radiotherapy (RT) on the urinary system in women with gynecologic cancer.
Material And Methods: This is a prospective, concurrent cohort study including 55 patients with gynecologic cancer who were divided into three groups. Group 1 included 10 patients who were administered adjuvant RT following a radical hysterectomy (RH); Group 2 included 36 patients who were administered adjuvant RT following a type 1 hysterectomy and Group 3 included 9 patients who were administered primary curative RT.
Objectives: Our study aimed to determine the epidemiological characteristics and diagnostic and treatment protocols of primary vaginal carcinoma. Also, we compared the clinical and pathological features of primary vaginal carcinoma which intersect with cervical and vulvar carcinomas.
Material And Methods: Sixteen patients with primary vaginal carcinoma, admitted to the Department of Gynecologic Oncology, Izmir Tepecik Training and Research Hospital between January 1983 and December 2012, were evaluated retrospectively.
Objectives: Lead extraction in patients with multiple or old leads of an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) is challenging. As adhesions are common at the side of the shock coils, we investigated success and procedural complication rates of laser lead extraction procedures in single- and dual-coil leads.
Methods: Between January 2001 and June 2013, 41 single- and 145 dual-coil ICD leads were extracted from 171 patients using laser sheaths.
Oronasal fistulas can occur as a complication and sometimes they are refractory to the adequate surgical interventions. Two patients of oronasal fistula were presented. The first one developed as a complication of nasal septal surgery.

The few AOSD cases that have been reported developed Purtscher's-like retinopathy associated with thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). Here, we report Purtscher's-like retinopathy without TMA in a patient with AOSD.

Purpose: Radiation therapy is generally applied after surgery for the treatment of breast cancer, which is among the most frequently observed types of cancer in females. Radiation therapy may have some negative effects on the quality of life due to various side effects such as changes in the skin, mucositis and fatigue. Our study was planned as a descriptive study, in order to examine the relationship between comfort and quality of life in breast cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy.

However, the pathogenesis of impaired pulmonary functions has not been completely elucidated in these patients. We designed a study to investigate acute effects of hemodialysis treatment on spirometry parameters, focusing on the relationship between pulmonary function and fluid status in hemodialysis patients.
