Background: To evaluate the protective effect of oil (NSO) on the myocardium in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.
Materials And Methods: Thirty-two 7-8-week-old female Wistar albino rats (300-350 g) were equally divided into 4 groups: nondiabetic untreated animals (control), diabetes mellitus (DM), NSO, and DM+NSO groups. For the induction of diabetes, 45 mg/kg streptozotocin was applied to the rats in the DM and DM+NSO groups as a single intraperitoneal dose.
Purpose: To describe and analyze the impact of calcification on the optical quality of segmented refractive bifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs).
Methods: Eight segmented refractive bifocal IOLs made of hydrophilic acrylic were explanted from 8 patients due to opacification (and one opacified IOL that was not explanted) and analyzed in a cross-sectional study with laboratory analysis. Nine cases comprised three IOL models: LS-313 MF30 (5 cases), LS-312 MF30 (3 cases), and LS-313 MF15 (1 case).

Methods: In this prospective study, 13 patients with cataract received a small-aperture IC-8 IOL (AcuFocus, Irvine, CA) in one eye and a segmental-refractive Lentis Mplus LS-313 MF20 IOL (Oculentis, Berlin, Germany) in the fellow eye. Purpose: Wavelength dependence of diffractive intraocular lenses (IOLs) was recognized in vitro but not yet assessed in vivo. By examining pseudophakic patients who had extended-depth-of-focus diffractive implants, this spectral effect on their vision was measured clinically and the lens was tested in vitro.

We reported a microporous MOF FJU-101 with open naphthalene diimide functional groups for room temperature (RT) high methane storage. At RT and 65 bar, the total volumetric CH storage capacity of 212 cm (STP) cm of FJU-101a is significantly higher than those of the isoreticular MFM-130a and UTSA-40a. The enhanced methane uptake in FJU-101a is attributed to the polar carbonyl sites, which can generate strong electrostatic interactions with CH molecules.
