Objective: This study aims to evaluate the long-term impact of the six-week online mindfulness intervention course "Mindfulness Living With Challenge (MLWC)" on the mental health of undergraduate nursing students in Beijing, China, through a three-month follow-up.
Methods: A three-month follow-up was conducted upon completion of the six-week MLWC course. Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale (DASS-21), Chinese Short Formed Five Facets of Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ-SF), and the Perceived Social Support Scale (PSSS) were used to evaluate participants' mental health, mindfulness, and perceived social support.
Background: Although the second booster dose of COVID-19 vaccines is available, vaccine hesitancy among the public may have peaked due to the surge in infections caused by the Omicron variant. To improve coverage of the second booster dose, it is crucial to investigate the prevalence of vaccine hesitancy among the general population during this period and explore the reasons for this phenomenon.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted between January 5 to February 9, 2023.
Background: is a differentially expressed gene (DEG) between M1 and M2 macrophages. This study explained why it causes opposite effects in different circumstances.
Methods: Gene expression profiles of various cell subsets were compared by mining a public database.
Background: The role of inflammation in the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) related skin complications necessitates further investigation. This study aims to explore the correlation between inflammation and cutaneous alterations in T2DM, enhancing comprehension of underlying mechanism involved.
Methods: Utilizing bioinformatics, the GSE38396 and GSE92724 datasets were employed to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and potential hub genes in T2DM-related skin inflammation.
China witnessed an Omicron COVID-19 outbreak at the end of 2022. During this period, medical crowding and enormous pressure on the healthcare systems occurred, which might result in the occurrence of occupational burnout among healthcare workers (HCWs). This study aims to investigate the prevalence of occupational burnout and associated mental conditions, such as depressive symptoms, anxiety, PTSD symptoms, perceived social support, resilience, and mindfulness among HCWs of the Chinese mainland during the Omicron COVID-19 outbreak, and to explore the potential risk and protective factors influencing occupational burnout of HCWs.

Exosome non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), a type of liquid biopsy, have emerged as promising diagnostic biomarkers for various tumours. This study aimed to identify a serum exosome ncRNA feature for enhancing GC diagnosis.

Yet, HMF electrooxidation requires strong alkaline conditions and membranes for efficient conversion. These harsh conditions destabilize HMF, leading to humin formation and reduced product purity, meanwhile membranes increase costs.

Methods: A PS-OCT system was developed for imaging the posterior eye using a swept laser. Data from highly myopic patients who underwent PS-OCT examination between May and June 2019 were used to generate birefringence images (showing scleral fiber density), optic axis images (visualizing the orientation of scleral fibers), and streamline images (providing 3D reconstructions to visualize scleral fiber stream).

With the application of copper nanoparticles (nano-Cu) in livestock and poultry feed addition, their biotoxicity has been gradually recognized. Therefore, it has become an urgent problem to find the effective natural antagonists to reduce the toxicity of copper nanoparticles. Here, we found that hesperidin could alleviate nano-Cu-induced pathological injury in the immune organs of chickens via the histopathological examination of the spleen, thymus, and bursa of Fabricius.

In this work, an electrified esterification pathway utilizing a Joule-heated interfacial catalysis (JIC) system is proposed, where a hydrophilic, sulfonic acid-functionalized covalent organic framework grown on carbon felt (COF─SOH@CF) acts as the interfacial catalyst, and the carbon felt serves as the electric heat source. This approach achieves an acetic acid conversion of 80.

HPV vaccination for girls aged 9-14 years can effectively prevent the occurrence of cervical cancer. Some Chinese provinces and cities have launched free HPV vaccination programs for school-age girls; however, due to the lack of supportive government policies, the high price and supply shortage of HPV vaccines, and vaccine hesitancy, some parents refuse to vaccinate their daughters.

Objectives: Companions commonly participate in medical visits to facilitate the interactions between healthcare professionals (HCPs) and older patients. Multiple studies have investigated the contributions and roles of companions in these triadic interactions. However, no review has synthesized these studies.

However, there is currently a lack of research on the mechanisms of charge transfer and cluster intercalation between AlCl4 and AlN cathode materials. Herein, first-principles calculations are employed to investigate the intercalation mechanism of AlCl4 within the AlN cathode.

This study focused on ferroptosis and pyroptosis to explore the effects of QBT on nerve injury, cognitive dysfunction, and related mechanisms in a rat model of vascular dementia (VaD).
Methods: We established a rat model of VaD and administered QBT as a treatment.
Chronic caloric restriction triggers unfavorable alterations in cardiac function albeit responsible scenarios remain unclear. This work evaluated the possible involvement of Akt2 in caloric restriction-evoked cardiac geometric and functional changes and responsible processes focusing on autophagy and mitophagy. Akt2 knockout and WT mice were subjected to caloric restriction for 30 weeks prior to assessment of myocardial homeostasis.

In this study, a novel NIR laser-triggered upconversion luminescence (UCL) imaging-guided nanoparticle called FA@TPA-NH-ZnPc@UCNPs (FTU) was developed for PDT. FTU consisted of UCNPs, folic acid (FA), and triphenylamino-phenylaniline zinc phthalocyanine (TPA-NH-ZnPc).

Therefore, MRI images are widely used to achieve the segmentation of brain tumors. This paper is the first attempt to discuss the use of optimization spiking neural P systems to improve the threshold segmentation of brain tumor images.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, people living with HIV (PLWH) may have higher risks of infection, more serious complications, and worse prognosis without the protection of the COVID-19 vaccine. A systematic review and meta-analysis aiming to evaluate the prevalence of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among PLWH was conducted using PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases for studies published between January 1, 2020, and August 31, 2022.
