Neuroprotective Effects of Leptin on the APP/PS1 Alzheimer's Disease Mouse Model: Role of Microglial and Neuroinflammation.

Background: Microglia are closely linked to Alzheimer's disease (AD) many years ago; however, the pathological mechanisms of AD remain unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine whether leptin affected microglia in the hippocampus of young and aged male APP/PS1 mice.

Objective: In a transgenic model of AD, we investigated the association between intraperitoneal injection of leptin and microglia.

Geographic Distribution of HCV Genotypes and Efficacy of Direct-Acting Antivirals in Chronic HCV-Infected Patients in North and Northeast China: A Real-World Multicenter Study.

Objective: To assess the geographic distribution of HCV genotypes, effectiveness, and safety of DAA treatment for HCV-infected patients in North and Northeast China.

Methods: The geographic distribution of HCV genotypes was analyzed in 2162 patients recruited from April 2018 to February 2021. Sustained virologic response rates at 12 (SVR12) or 24 (SVR24) weeks posttreatment and safety were analyzed in 405 patients who completed DAA treatment according to patient baseline characteristics and treatment.

Study of the Mechanical Properties and Toughening Mechanism of Nano-NbC Particles Toughened Si₃N₄-Based Ceramics.

In this article, nano-NbC particles toughened Si₃N₄-based ceramics were prepared by injection moulding and their mechanical properties along with toughening mechanism were studied. An increase of nano-NbC content, gradually homogenizes microstructure of the Si₃N₄-based ceramics along with increase in its density. However, the fracture toughness and flexural strength first increases and then decreases.
