Self-control mediates the relationship between time perspective and mobile phone addiction in Chinese college students.

Background: Mobile phone addiction (MPA) is a prevalent problem among college students, and Chinese college students are a high-risk group for smartphone addiction. MPA has a negative impact on the physical and mental health and academic performance of college students. Studies have explored the influence of many factors on MPA, such as the characteristics of the smartphone itself, the characteristics of the smartphone user, and the environment.

More proactive but less efficient: The effect of trait self-control on emotion regulation and its neural mechanisms.

Self-control is important for maintaining good health, acquiring achievement and happiness, and improving environmental adaptability. Trait self-control can affect the processing of emotional conflict in daily life and is associated with successful emotional regulation. In this study, the task functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) technology was adopted to explore the emotion regulation processing and neural mechanism of individuals with different trait self-control levels.

The positivity bias of Chinese temporal collective self: Evidence from the first-person perspective and the third-person perspective.

Objective: As a unique part of human thinking, people can project themselves into the past or the future for mental time travel. This study attempts to expand the temporal self into the domain of the collective self.

Methods: We used an adapted temporal collective self-reference paradigm to probe into the positivity bias of temporal collective self in this study.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mental health of homosexual adults in China and to explore the effects of perceived social support and self-efficacy on mental health.

Methods: Two hundred and nine homosexuals were recruited to participate in the online survey. The Perceived Social Support Scale, General Self-efficacy Scale, Self-rating Anxiety Scale and Self-rating Depression Scale were completed through a questionnaire website.

The Influence of Actual Appraisals of Peers on the Self-Appraisals of Personality Traits for Chinese Late Adolescents: The Mediating Effect of Reflected Appraisals.

Reflected appraisals refer to the perceptions of individuals of how they are perceived by others. Numerous studies in cultural psychology have revealed that individuals in the Eastern collectivist culture show an interdependent self-construal, which depends much on the social culture. Hence, the research on reflected appraisals in the Eastern culture can improve the understanding of how the social environment shapes the self-perception of an individual.

Two New Alkaloids from Fuzi and Their Metabolites Study.

Former study suggests alkaloids from herbs of Aconitum genus plants possess excellent bioactivities, which exert great value for related deeper chemical constituent investigation. Herein, chemical isolation was performed and four alkaloids were isolated from Fuzi, of which two were new ones, and the other two were reported NMR data for the first time. Their chemical structures were identified by NMR data, high resolution MS, UV and IR analysis.

The global profiling of alkaloids in Aconitum stapfianum and analysis of detoxification material basis against Fuzi.

Aconitum alkaloids are versatile in chemical structures and are well known for their bioactivity and toxicity. Cases of analogs with closely similar structures or positional isomers are widespread in herbs of the Aconitum genus. It is still challenging to rapidly identify unknown compounds via mass spectrometry, especially positional isomers.
