Muscle fatigue significantly impacts coordination, stability, and speed in daily activities. Accurate assessment of muscle fatigue is vital for effective exercise programs, injury prevention, and sports performance enhancement. Current methods mostly focus on individual muscles and strength evaluation, overlooking overall fatigue in multi-muscle movements.

The human body transmits directional information between muscles during upper limb movements, and this will be particularly evident when the dominant muscle changes during movement transitions. By capturing the electromyography (EMG) signals of wrist flexion and extension continuous transition movements, we investigated the characteristics of multichannel intermuscular directional coupling and directional information transmission, and consequently explored the control mechanism of Central nervous system (CNS) and the coordination mechanism of motor muscles. Multi-channel EMG was collected from 12 healthy subjects under continuous translational movements of wrist flexion and extension, and the time-varying biased directional coherence analysis (TVPDC) model was constructed using partial directional coherence analysis (PDC) frequency domain directionality to study the directional information transfer characteristics in the time-frequency domain, screen closely related muscle pairs and perform directional coupling significance analysis.

Human motion control system has a high degree of nonlinear characteristics. Through quantitative evaluation of the nonlinear coupling strength between surface electromyogram (sEMG) signals, we can get the functional state of the muscles related to the movement, and then explore the mechanism of human motion control. In this paper, wavelet packet decomposition and : coherence analysis are combined to construct an intermuscular cross-frequency coupling analysis model based on wavelet packet- : coherence.

To better analyze the problem of abnormal neuromuscular coupling related to motor dysfunction for stroke patients, the functional coupling of the multichannel electromyography (EMG) were studied and the difference between stroke patients and healthy subjects were further analyzed to explore the pathological mechanism of motor dysfunction after stroke. Firstly, the cross-frequency coherence (CFC) analysis and non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) were combined to construct a CFC-NMF model to study the linear coupling relationship in bands and the nonlinear coupling characteristics in different frequency ratios during elbow flexion and extension movement. Furthermore, the significant coherent area and sum of cross-frequency coherence were respectively calculated to quantitatively describe the intermuscular linear and nonlinear coupling characteristics.

An efficient heterogeneous amidation catalyst has been prepared by co-polymerisation of styrene, DVB with 4-styreneboronic acid, which shows wide substrate applicability and higher reactivity than the equivalent homogeneous phenylboronic acid, suggesting potential cooperative catalytic effects. The catalyst can be easily recovered and reused; suitable for use in packed bed flow reactors.

Rehabilitation robots play an important role in the rehabilitation field, and effective human-robot interaction contributes to promoting the development of the rehabilitation robots. Though many studies about the human-robot interaction have been carried out, there are still several limitations in the flexibility and stability of the control system. Therefore, we proposed an advanced adaptive control method for lower limb rehabilitation robot.

The central nervous system (CNS) controls the limb movement by modulating multiple skeletal muscles with synergistic modules and neural oscillations with different frequencies between the activated muscles. Several researchers have found intermuscular coherence existing within the synergistic muscle pairs, and pointed out that the intermuscular synchronization existed when functional forces were generated. However, few studies involved the time-varying characteristics of the intermuscular coherence in each synergy module though all activated muscles keep in a dynamic and varying process.

Background: As a non-modeled information theoretical measure, the transfer entropy (TE) could be applied to quantitatively analyze the linear and nonlinear coupling characteristics between two observations. However, the parameters selection of TE (the parameters used in state space reconstruction and estimating Shannon entropy) has a serious influence on the accuracy of its results.

New Method: In this study, the hybrid particle swarm optimization (HPSO) was applied to improve the accuracy of TE by optimizing its parameters.

For the questions of deeply researching abnormal neuromuscular coupling and better evaluating motor function of stroke patients with motor dysfunction,an effective intermuscular coherence analysis method and index are studied to explore the neuromuscular oscillation and the pathomechanism of motor dysfunction, based on which an assessment standard of muscle function is established.Firstly, the contrastive analysis about the intermuscular coherence of antagonistic muscle of affected and intact upper limbs of stroke patients was conducted.Secondly,a significant indicator of Fisher’s Z-transformed coherence significant indicator was defined to quantitatively describe the coupling differences in certain functional frequency domain between surface electromyogram(sEMG)of affected and intact sides.

To quantitatively evaluate the upper-limb spasticity of stroke patients in recovery stage, the relationship between surface electromyography (sEMG) characteristic indexes from biceps brachii and triceps brachii and the spasticity were explored, which provides the electrophysiological basis for clinical rehabilitation. Ten patients with spasticity after stroke were selected to be estimated by modified Ashworth (MAS) assessment and a passive elbow sinusoidal motion experiment was carried out. At the same time, the sEMG of biceps and triceps were recorded.

To better evaluate neuromuscular function of patients with stroke related motor dysfunction, we proposed an effective corticomuscular coherence analysis and coherent significant judgment method. Firstly, the related functional frequency bands in the electroencephalogram (EEG) were extracted via wavelet decomposition. Secondly, coherence were analysed between surface electromyography (sEMG) and sub-bands extracted from EEG.
