Pinellia ternata, a widely distributed species in China, has been used as a herbal medicine for centuries, with the effects of drying dampness and resolving phlegm. However, its complex ploidy and lack of whole-genome map limit in-depth research on molecular-assisted breeding and multi-omics. In this study, flow cytometry was employed to evaluate the genome sizes of 144 P.

Prior research suggests that people can shift between at least three types of evaluations to judge whether something is good or bad: (how costly or beneficial it is), (whether it is aligned with moral norms), and (whether it feels good; Van Bavel et al., 2012).

Previous studies have shown that they can be infected with parasites such as Cryptosporidium spp. At present, there were few reports on its infection with the virus.

Methods: The specific single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were screened by comparing candidate barcodes of Fritillaria and verified by amplification and sequencing. Herb molecular quantification (Herb-Q) was established by detecting specific SNPs, and the methodological validation was performed.
Despite recent advances in systemic therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the prognosis of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-induced HCC patients remains poor. By screening a sgRNA library targeting human deubiquitinases, we find that ubiquitin-specific peptidase 26 (USP26) deficiency impairs HBV-positive HCC cell proliferation. Genetically engineered murine models with Usp26 knockout confirm that Usp26 drives HCC tumorigenesis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAlkali metals (Li, Na, and K) are deemed as the ideal anode materials for next-generation high-energy-density batteries because of their high theoretical specific capacity and low redox potentials. However, alkali metal anodes (AMAs) still face some challenges hindering their further applications, including uncontrollable dendrite growth and unstable solid electrolyte interphase during cycling, resulting in low Coulombic efficiency and inferior cycling performance. In this regard, designing 3D current collectors as hosts for AMAs is one of the most effective ways to address the above-mentioned problems, because their sufficient space could accommodate AMAs' volume expansion, and their high specific surface area could lower the local current density, leading to the uniform deposition of alkali metals.

Accurate species quantification remains challenging, as current methods often yield inconsistent results. This study introduces a novel pyrosequencing-based technique, termed herb molecular quantification (Herb-Q), designed to precisely quantify herbal products.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTumor recurrence after chemoradiotherapy is challenging to overcome, and approaches to predict the recurrence remain elusive. Here, human cervical cancer tissues before and after concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) analyzed by single-cell RNA sequencing reveal that CCRT specifically promotes CD8 T cell senescence, driven by atypical chemokine receptor 2 (ACKR2) CCRT-resistant tumor cells. Mechanistically, ACKR2 expression is increased in response to CCRT and is also upregulated through the ligation of CC chemokines that are produced by activated myeloid and T cells.

CD146, also known as melanoma cell adhesion molecule (MCAM), is overexpressed in various cancer patients, making it a valuable predictor for early diagnosis. In this work, an immune sandwich electrochemical biosensor is proposed for sensitive and non-invasive quantitative detection of CD146 in serum. Zirconium-based MOF (UIO-66) was modified by simultaneous copper atom doping, in situ growth carbon-based support and physical embedding of platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs).

However, there remains a significant knowledge gap concerning a minority of children with ADHD who may demonstrate flourishing in one or more areas of functioning. This study investigated the association between positive childhood experiences (PCEs) and flourishing among children with ADHD.

It will play an important and unique role in simulating brain functions, efficiently implementing AI algorithms, and improving computing power. Developing artificial neurons that can send facilitation/depression signals to artificial synapses, sense, and process temperature information is of great significance for achieving more efficient and compact brain-like computing systems.

By mimicking the behavior of the human brain, artificial neural systems offer the possibility to further improve computing efficiency and solve the von Neumann bottleneck. In particular, neural systems with perceptual capability expand the application field and lay a good foundation for the construction of perceptual storage and computational systems. However, research on neurons with perceptual functions is still relatively scarce, with most works focusing on optoelectronic synapses.

And phone addiction increases the risk of anxiety and poor sleep. Therefore, this study used network analysis to investigate the relationship between mobile phone addiction and anxiety symptoms, and the predictability to sleep quality.

In the context of the campus lockdown, this study aimed to explore whether anxiety mediated the association between interpersonal sensitivity and depression, and investigate whether psychological capital moderated the indirect or direct effect of mediation model.
Methods: A total of 12945 undergrad students were recruited in China from April 10 to 19, 2022.
Purpose/aim: To investigate the relationship between brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) and microvascular complications in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Materials And Methods: From 2019 to 2021, our hospital enrolled 322 patients with T2DM. Clinical information and biochemical indicators of patients were collected from the inpatient electronic medical record system and analyzed retrospectively.
Objective: This study aims to summarize the relevant evidence on the association between eye exercises and myopia in children and adolescents in China.
Methods: The meta-analysis pooled the results of 12 studies, with a total of 134,201 participants. Another five studies (no OR for myopia as an outcome and meeting inclusion criteria) were reported in the systematic review.
Background: In the context of the outbreak of COVID-19 within mainland China, to understand the mental health status of university students during campus closure, this study analyzes the relationship between anxiety, depressive symptoms, and psychological capital and to reveals their central symptoms.
Methods: A total of 12,945 university students were included in this study from April 10 to 19, 2022. Anxiety and depressive symptoms were measured by the seven-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) and two-item Patient Health Questionnaires (PHQ-2).
