Background: Reduced greenness and increased nighttime light (NTL) have been associated with adverse health outcomes; however, the impacts of greenness and NTL on human fecundability remain uncertain.
Methods: Data was collected from 14,239,365 couples across 31 provinces in China. Greenness exposure was estimated using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) within 1000-meter buffer zones, while NTL data was derived from the Visible and Infrared Imaging Suite Day Night Band aboard satellites, both based on individual residential addresses.
Gene fusions are common cancer drivers and therapeutic targets, but clinical-grade open-source bioinformatic tools are lacking. Here, we introduce a fusion detection method named SplitFusion, which is fast by leveraging Burrows-Wheeler Aligner-maximal exact match (BWA-MEM) split alignments, can detect cryptic splice-site fusions (e.g.

However, the significant molecular weight hinders their inhibitory activity. In this study, oyster glycosaminoglycans were used for purification and depolymerization studies to obtain oyster glycosaminoglycan oligosaccharides (OGAG-Oli) and to study their inhibitory activity against α-glucosidase in vitro and hypoglycemic effect on hyperglycemic zebrafish in vivo.

It has been reported that programmed cell death (PCD) plays a critical role in the development and progression of sepsis, which has the potential to be a diagnosis and prognosis indicator for patient with sepsis.
Methods: Fourteen PCD patterns were analyzed for model construction.
WUSCHEL-related homeobox (WOX) is a class of plant-specific transcription factors and plays vital roles in plant development and evolution. Here, we analyzed WOX family genes of three Rosa species and explored their potential functions in Rosa. A total of 351 WOX genes were identified from Rosa chinensis 'Old Blush' (208), Rosa wichuraiana 'Basye's Thornless' (21) and Rosa rugosa (122).

Methods: Electrophysiology was performed to examine the intrinsic excitability of CA1 neurons and the activity of the hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channels (HCNs) of CA1 neurons in wild type (WT) and hAPP-J20 mice.
Microplastics (MPs) pollution in subsurface environments poses significant ecological challenges, yet the understanding of their transport and retention behaviors remains limited. This study employs a two-dimensional porous media flow cell to investigate the migration and distribution of polystyrene MPs in saturated porous media under varying flow rates. We reveal that higher flow rates reduce overall retention but increase spatial autocorrelation in MP distribution, driven by particle accumulation in "transition pores" -pores that retain MPs occasionally.

This study utilized single-cell RNA sequencing and genomic analysis to explore the characteristic genes of macrophages in HCC and their impact on patient prognosis. We obtained single-cell se-quencing data from seven HCC samples in the GEO database.

However, studies on stimulating the potential concentration effect through intermetallic coordination to enhance the electron transfer efficiency are limited. In this study, a cobalt (Co) and zinc (Zn) bimetallic yolk-shell structured high-efficiency peroxymonosulfate (PMS) catalyst (Z67@8-HCNF) was prepared by the derivatization of metal-organic backbone materials and was found to produce significant synergistic interactions between Co and Zn metals, which could be utilized to trigger the potential concentration effect to enhance the intermolecular electron transfer efficiency and achieve efficient PMS activation.

In this study, we identify acyl-coenzyme A (CoA) synthetase long-chain family member 1 (ACSL1) as a direct target of ergosterol (ES). The C-terminal domain of ACSL1 undergoes conformational changes from closed to open, and ES may target the drug-binding pocket in the acetyl-CoA synthetase-like domain 1 (ASLD1) of ACSL1 to stabilize the closed conformation and maintain its activity.

Additionally, we identified factors that may influence medication use and emphasized the importance of effective osteoporosis management strategies.
Purpose: The goal of the current study is to explore trends in assessment, diagnosis after fragility fractures, and osteoporosis treatment among hospitalized patients in Xiamen, China, between 2012 and 2021.
Background: Virtual reality (VR) training uses computer-generated simulations that enable users to engage with immersive virtual environments, simulating real-world activities or therapeutic exercises. This technology is increasingly recognized as a promising intervention to address the physical and psychological challenges faced by dialysis patients, who frequently experience diminished physical function, social isolation, and emotional distress associated with prolonged treatment regimens. Given the increasing prevalence of dialysis patients and the limitations of conventional rehabilitation approaches, VR presents a novel, interactive method that has the potential to enhance patient well-being and improve quality of life.

This study focuses on how sevoflurane induces ferroptosis in astrocytes and identifies solute carrier family 7 member 11 (SLC7A11) as a mediator of ferroptosis, providing new insights into sevoflurane-related neurotoxic pathways. We analysed single-cell sequencing (scRNA-seq) data from sevoflurane-exposed mice and control mice, supplemented with bulk RNA-seq data, to assess gene expression alterations.
