Aqueous self-assembly and the following disulfide-exchange reaction of the resulting ssTP allow for formation of core-cross-linked micelles (CCMs) through the formation of new disulfide linkages, retaining enhanced colloidal stability in physiological conditions and in the presence of proteins.
