Luteolin (Lut) and apigenin (Apn), flavones present in various edible plants, exhibit diverse antioxidant and pharmacological activities but have limited in vivo efficacy due to low water solubility and poor bioavailability. Here, we generated luteolin and apigenin monophosphate derivatives (LutPs and ApnPs) individually via microbial biotransformation. We then characterized their physicochemical properties and evaluated their in vitro and in vivo pharmacokinetics and bioavailability.

However, previous research has often treated both low- and high-SES students as homogenous groups. This study aims to address this gap by investigating the developmental trajectory profiles of mathematics motivation during early adolescence, with a focus on variations within and across SES groups.

This study aimed to explore how competition-induced anxiety influences students' subjective cognitive load (SCL), attention levels, and test scores. We also investigated the mediating role of the behavioral inhibition system/behavioral activation system (BIS/BAS) in those factors.

In recent years, plant-derived EVs (PDEVs) containing bioactive compounds have attracted increasing interest due to their better biocompatibility and lower cytotoxicity in healthy tissues. In the biomedical field, PDEVs have been used as cargo carriers to achieve various functions through engineering modification techniques.

Lithium/sodium metal anodes are considered promising candidates to realize high-energy-density batteries because of their high theoretical specific capacity and low potential. However, their cycling stability are hindered by uncontrolled dendrites growth. Herein, SnSe nanoparticles are tightly anchored on the fiber of carbon cloth (CC) to construct SnSe@CC host material in order to control Li/Na nucleation behavior and restrain dendrites growth.

Method: This study examines the psychometric properties of the Chinese versions of the Vocational Cognitive Rating Scale (VCRS) and the Work Behavior Inventory (WBI) in 60 chronic patients from a psychiatric daycare center and identifies clinical correlates of occupational function measured on the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS).
Results: The Chinese VCRS and WBI showed adequate internal consistency, interrater and test-retest reliability, and good convergent validity with the Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Evaluation Scale.
Currently, there are no effective therapeutic targets for the treatment of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion(CCH)-induced cerebral ischemic injury. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) are discovered as the inducers of neurogenesis and angiogenesis. We previously made a nanofiber membrane (NFM), maintaining a long-term release of VEGF and bFGF up to 35 days, which might make VEGF and bFGF NFM as the potential protective agents against cerebral ischemic insult.

However, the beneficial effects of endogenous VEGFA/bFGF are limited as their expression is only transiently increased. In this study, we generated multilayered nanofiber membranes loaded with VEGFA/bFGF using layer-by-layer self-assembly and electrospinning techniques.

In this study, we investigated chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH)-induced gut microbiota and metabolic profiles of SCFAs as well as the effects and mechanisms of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) and SCFAs treatment on CCH-induced hippocampal neuronal injury.
Methods: Bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (BCCAo) was used to establish the CCH model.
Background: Little is known about the association between gut microbiota and intestinal injury under a state of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH). Here, the effects of gut microbiota and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), as important metabolic products, on intestinal function and potential mechanisms after CCH were investigated.
Methods: Rats were subjected to bilateral common carotid artery occlusion (BCCAo) to induce CCH.
We investigated the potential effects and mechanisms of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-nanofiber membranes (NFMs) treatment in a rat model of chronic cerebral hypoperfusion (CCH). VEGF-NFMs treatment promoted angiogenesis in surgical temporal cortex and hippocampus, alleviating decreased CBF in these two cerebral regions. VEGF-NFMs application improved reduced NAA/Cr ratio, preventing neuronal loss.

Although the acclimation mechanism to iron deficiency has been investigated, the genetic regulation of iron acquisition is still unclear. Here, by comparing the iron uptake process between the iron-poor-soil-tolerant citrus species Zhique (ZQ) and the iron-poor-soil-sensitive citrus species trifoliate orange (TO), we discovered that enhanced root H efflux is crucial for the tolerance to iron deficiency in ZQ.

To explore the appropriate controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH) protocols in infertility patients who received the fertilization (IVF)/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatments during the COVID-19 pandemic. This retrospective cohort study evaluated the efficiency of the early follicular-phase long-acting GnRH-agonist long (EFLL) protocol (a new protocol developed by Chinese clinicians), prolonged pituitary down-regulation of EFLL protocol (Pro-EFLL), and the GnRH-ant protocol for couples meeting the study criteria between February 2020 and June 2020 who were treated by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University during the COVID-19 pandemic, and compared the pregnancy rates and miscarriage rates per fresh transfer cycle, number of retrieved oocytes, endometrial thickness on the day of hCG injection and the number of fertilized oocytes, mature oocytes, fertilized oocytes, and transferable embryos among the three protocols. We found that the prolonged pituitary down-regulation during the COVID-19 pandemic by utilizing a full-dose of GnRH-a administrated in infertility patients were no differences in clinical outcomes than other protocols, The prolonged pituitary down-regulation protocol and EFLL protocol were associated with a higher Endometrial thickness on the day of hCG injection (12.
