Article Synopsis
- The study aimed to compare patterns of ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) loss in normal tension glaucoma (NTG) and primary open angle glaucoma (POAG), and to examine how well GCIPL thickness can distinguish these conditions from normal eyesight.
- A total of 157 eyes from matched subjects were analyzed using optical coherence tomography (OCT) to measure various thickness parameters of GCIPL and retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) for diagnostic comparisons.
- Results indicated no significant differences in thickness between NTG and POAG, but certain GCIPL and RNFL parameters were effective at differentiating these glaucoma types from normal subjects, with minimum GCIPL thickness showing the best diagnostic capability.
[A simple method for evaluation of the stability of magnetic resonance scanner during brain function imaging].

Objective: To develop a simple method for evaluating the stability of magnetic resonance (MR) scanner during brain function imaging.
Method: A symmetrical water phantom was scanned using the same sequence and parameters as for brain function imaging. The stability of MR scanner was evaluated in view of the signal levels of phantom images.
