Real-time monitoring of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) in skeletal muscle provides crucial insights into the cause-and-effect relationships between physical activity and health benefits. However, the dynamic production of exercise-induced RONS remains poorly explored, due to the lack of sensing tools that can conform to soft skeletal muscle while monitor RONS release during exercise. Here we introduce dual flexible sensors via twisting carbon nanotubes into helical bundles of fibers and subsequent assembling electrochemical sensing components.

However, the widespread application of commercial QKD is still challenging due to the low photon detection efficiency and the extremely high transmission loss. Here we demonstrate a fully commercial phase-encoding QKD system using a signal extraction model and advantage distillation technology to suppress detector noise and perform real-time pre-error correction.

However, the weak randomness in a practical QKD system may lower the secret key rate and limit its achievable communication distance, thus compromising its performance. In this paper, we analyze the effects of the weak randomness on the SNS TF-QKD.

It can generate secure keys between two remote users with slowly drifted and unknown reference frames. However, the drift of reference frames may inevitably compromise the performance of QKD systems.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFTwin-field quantum key distribution (TF-QKD) has attracted considerable attention and developed rapidly due to its ability to surpass the fundamental rate-distance limit of QKD. However, the device imperfections may compromise its practical implementations. The goal of this paper is to make it robust against the state preparation flaws (SPFs) and side channels at the light source.

China is also rich in Impatiens species, especially in the limestone karsts or 'Danxia' landforms. With zygomorphic flowers and diverse corolla morphology and color, the species in Impatiens are well-known for their ornamental use, but they are also notorious in taxonomy.

Analysis revealed that the ginger extract was rich in terpene hydrocarbons, along with oxygenated terpenes and other non-volatile compounds. The MD distillates were prepared in a series of stages and the active compounds like terpenes and gingerols could be separated by MD.

The purpose of our study was to prospectively investigate whether ablation guided by soluble contrast esophageal visualization (SCEV) reduces injury during atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation.
Methods: Seventy-eight patients with paroxysmal AF undergoing circumferential pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) were randomized to a SCEV group (n = 39) and control group without visualization (n = 39).

The wearable device was designed with two sensing components: on the upper layer of the device, four kinds of porphyrin-modified reduced graphene oxide (rGO) films were prepared and used for a sensor array that could sufficiently react with VOC vapors to achieve highly sensitive detection. A porous rGO film was designed on the underlayer of the device and used as a strain-sensing matrix, which could be closely attached to the skin to achieve a highly sensitive detection of the physiological signal.

The rGO film is used as a strain-sensing layer for monitoring human motion via its resistance change, whereas the porous IOAC film is used as a flexible microstructured substrate not only for high sensitive motion sensing, but also for collection and analysis of ion concentrations in sweat by its simple colorimetric changes or reflection-peak shifts. Studies on humans demonstrated that the devices have excellent capability for monitoring various human motions, such as finger bending motion, wrist bending motion, head rotation motion and various small-scale motions of the throat.

However, the beneficial effect of NSC transplantation upon functional recovery is limited due to the unfavorable microenvironment (niche) at the site of trauma or degenerative disease in the brain. Combination of transplantation of NSCs with neurotrophins may overcome the hurdles of impaired cell survival and neuronal differentiation.
