Conductive polymer foam (CPF) with excellent compressibility and variable resistance has promising applications in electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and other integrated functions for wearable electronics. However, its insufficient change amplitude of resistance with compressive strain generally leads to a degradation of shielding performance during deformation. Here, an innovative loading strategy of conductive materials on polymer foam is proposed to significantly increase the contact probability and contact area of conductive components under compression.

Tetracaine, a local anesthetic, exhibits potent cytotoxic effects on multiple cancer; however, the precise underlying mechanisms of its anti-cancer activity remain uncertain. The anti-cancer activity of tetracaine was found to be the most effective among commonly used local anesthetics in this study. After tetracaine treatment, the differentially expressed genes in melanoma cells were identified by the RNAseq technique and enriched in the lysosome signaling pathway, cullin family protein binding, and proteasome signaling pathway through Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes.

Hydrogen-isotope storage materials are essential for the controlled nuclear fusion. However, the currently used smelting-ZrCo alloy suffers from rapid degradation of performance due to severe disproportionation. Here, we reveal a defect-derived disproportionation mechanism and report a nano-single-crystal strategy to solve ZrCo's problems.

This study explores the antifungal properties of Murrill, a valuable medicinal and edible fungus. Six compounds (-) were first isolated from using various isolation techniques and identified using spectroscopic methods. These compounds include linoleic acid, 1,1'-oxybis(2,4-di-tert-butylbenzene), glycerol monolinoleate, volemolide (17R)-17-methylincisterol, (24s)-ergosta-7-en-3-ol, and dibutyl phthalate.

Stretchable conductive fibers are an important component of wearable electronic textiles, but often suffer from a decrease in conductivity upon stretching. The use of liquid metal (LM) droplets as conductive fillers in elastic fibers is a promising solution. However, there is an urgent need to develop effective strategies to achieve high adhesion of LM droplets to substrates and establish efficient electron transport paths between droplets.

The discharge and consequent occurrence of antibiotics in the environment has led to increasing concerns because their presence can promote the development of resistance genes, which in turn pose a significant health risk. A key process to control the transport and risk of antibiotics is adsorption. Thus, we investigated the adsorption mechanisms of six typical antibiotics onto a MnFeO@cellulose activated carbon (CAC) hybrid combining batch adsorption experiments and quantum chemical calculations.

Amphiphilic polyurethane elastomers (APUE) were synthesized using a two-step polyaddition reaction based on the hydroxyl-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) soft segments with the molecular weights ('s) of 2000 and 1000, respectively. The effects of the PDMS/PEG contents on the properties and structures of the APUE were investigated. It was found that the APUE possessed high elongation, moderate tensile strength, and good thermal properties.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the third leading cause of cancer-associated mortality worldwide, is a major public health problem. Zinc finger protein A20 (A20), an acute phase response gene, is a potent inhibitor of NF-κB signaling. A20 serves a critical role in liver protection, including limiting inflammation following hepatic injury, stimulating hepatocyte growth, and preventing hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury.

An empirical potential that has been widely used to perform molecular dynamics studies on the fracture behavior of FeP metallic glasses is shown to exhibit spinodal decomposition in the composition range commonly studied. The phosphorous segregation induces a transition from ductility to brittleness. During brittle fracture the atomically sharp crack tip propagates along a percolating path with higher P concentration.

Adoptive therapy using tumor antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) is a promising approach for treatment of human cancers. Due to immune suppression in cancer patients, it is difficult for tumor antigen-specific CTLs to arrive at tumor tissues. Interferon-inducible protein-10 (IP-10) is a powerful chemokine that effectively attracts CTLs to tumor tissues and improves their anti-tumor activity.

Concentrations and species of iodine isotopes ((127)I and (129)I) provide vital information about iodine geochemistry, environmental conditions and water masses exchange in oceans. Despite extensive investigations of anthropogenic (129)I in the Arctic Ocean and the Nordic Seas, concentrations of the isotope in the Atlantic Ocean are, however, still unknown. We here present first data on (129)I and (127)I, and their species (iodide and iodate) in surface water transect along the northeastern Atlantic between 30° and 50°N.

The SO2 emission sources of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone were divided into 556 emissions units according to four different categories, which are city, industry, point sources, and area sources. The CALPUFF model was used to calculate the contribution of each unit, and consequently obtain an influence-transferring matrix. To ensure that the SO2 concentrations of 46 cities and counties in the Chengdu-Chongqing economic zone meet air quality standards, an emission optimization model was developed to calculate optimal emissions of each emission unit under different development scenarios.
