A new series of neutral, panchromatic Ru(II) terpyridine sensitizers (PRT1-PRT4) exhibit much higher molar extinction coefficients at 400-550 nm and superior DSSC performance in terms of conversion efficiency (eta = 10.05 for PRT4) and stability.

The yeast one-hybrid assay revealed that OsDREB1D was able to form a complex with the dehydration responsive element/C-repeat motif. It can also bind with a sequence of LTRE (low temperature responsive element).

DArT has recently been applied in genetic research of plants because of its characteristics of sequence-independent, high-throughput, fast, low-cost. We briefly introduce the principle, characteristics, protocol of DArT and its application in genetic research of plants.

The transgenes tend to be integrated into gene-rich regions on chromosomes due to selection of transgenic cells during tissue culture rather than integrated elsewhere randomly. Fragments of transferred DNA are interspersed with genomic DNA and filler DNA at most of transgenic loci except a few which contain complete single-copy of transgene.

It was revealed that 45s gene was only located at nucleolus organizer region (NOR) with a single locus in both diploid and tetraploid alfalfa, while 5s gene had 2-3 loci on chromosomes.
