- The study aimed to compare clinical outcomes and complications of femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) with conventional phacoemulsification cataract surgery (CPCS) through a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
- The analysis included 25 RCTs with 3,781 eyes, revealing no significant long-term differences in visual acuity and central corneal thickness between the two methods, but FLACS had some short-term advantages in visual acuity and endothelial cell counts post-surgery.
- Notably, while FLACS showed lower postoperative endothelial cell loss at early follow-ups, CPCS experienced a higher incidence of posterior capsular tears, indicating a potential safety advantage for FLACS in some respects
Aim: To evaluate the effects of etanercept on the expression of Fas, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and caspase-8 in the early stage of the apoptotic pathway in diabetic rats, and to explore the therapeutic effect of etanercept on diabetic retinopathy.
Methods: A total of 60 Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly and evenly divided into 3 groups with 20 rats each, including control group, and diabetic groups with or without treatment. Streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats were established for diabetic groups.
Aim: To identify the mutations of , , and in a large Chinese family affected by juvenile open angle glaucoma (JOAG).
Methods: Of 114 members of one family were recruited in this study. Blood samples from twelve members of this pedigree were collected for further research.
