Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is associated with a large hematoma that causes compression, increased intracranial pressure (IICP), midline shift, and brain herniation, and may ultimately lead to death. Urgent surgical removal of the large hematoma can ameliorate these injuries, which would be life-saving, but has not improved clinical outcome. A suitable animal model that mimics the clinically relevant human severe ICH injury requiring surgical hematoma evacuation is urgently needed.

Browning caused by polyphenol oxidase (PPO) and microorganisms significantly impacts the nutritional quality of fruits and vegetables. This study identified 7-(Diethylamino) coumarin-3-carboxylic acid (7-DCCA) as an effective inhibitor of both PPO and bacteria. Enzyme assays revealed that 7-DCCA competitively inhibits PPO activity with an IC value of 0.

The discrete element method(DEM), an important approach among numerical simulation methods, offers an effective tool for the simulation of discontinuous media. Referring to the research progress of DEM and the formulation of solid traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) preparations in recent years, this paper summarizes and analyzes the application of DEM in the pharmaceutical processes of solid TCM preparations, and discusses the challenges of its application in these processes, in order to provide new methods and ideas for promoting the high-quality production of TCM preparations.

Previous reports have described transplants from deceased liver donors with ITP who had very low platelet counts and disease largely refractory to treatment. Here, we present the first case of living kidney transplantation from a donor with ITP who underwent preoperative treatment, with concurrent splenectomy performed to reduce the long-term risk of spontaneous hemorrhage.

This study aimed to explore the cumulative incidence and risk factors for CMV infection and disease among HSCT recipients in Taiwan.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study using the Taiwan Blood and Marrow Transplantation Registry (TBMTR) included HSCT recipients between 2009 and 2018 in Taiwan.
Background: In recent years, advancements in cancer treatment have enabled cancer cell inhibition, leading to improved patient outcomes. However, the side effects of chemotherapy, especially leukopenia, impact patients' ability to tolerate their treatments and affect their quality of life. Traditional Chinese medicine is thought to provide complementary cancer treatment to improve the quality of life and prolong survival time among patients with cancer.

However, the long-term health outcomes after HSC donation remain a major concern for several potential donors. Thus, we aimed to conduct a matched cohort study of 5003 unrelated donors (1099 BM and 3904 PBSC) and randomly selected 50,030 matched controls based on age, sex, and resident area from the donor registry between 1998 and 2018.

Occasionally, the serum levels of acute-phase reactants remain normal in patients with obvious inflamed joints. Hematological indices derived from complete blood counts have been shown to correlate with disease activity.

Although tubular injury has been regarded as an important pathophysiology of CI-AKI, the underlying mechanism remains elusive. Here, we found arginase2(ARG2) accumulated in the tubules of CI-AKI mice, and was upregulated in iohexol treated kidney tubular cells and in blood samples of CI-AKI mice and patients, accompanied by increased nitrosative stress and apoptosis.

Adopting the theory of unification of medicines and excipients to design drug delivery systems can reduce the use of excipients and thus the cost of preparations, reduce drug toxicity, increase drug solubility and biocompatibility, enhance synergistic effect, and realize targeted delivery and simultaneous delivery of multiple components. However, the research on the application of this theory in the modern drug delivery system of TCM preparations is still insufficient, with few relevant articles.

However, comprehensive evaluation of the clinical characteristics associated with postoperative adverse events and survival outcomes is lacking.
Patients And Methods: A retrospective study that evaluated patients with NSCLC who underwent curative surgery between 2008 and 2019 was conducted in a medical center.
Background: Drug-induced acute kidney damage (DI-AKI) is a clinical phenomenon of rapid loss of kidney function over a brief period of time as a consequence of the using of medicines. The lack of a specialized treatment and the instability of traditional kidney injury markers to detect DI-AKI frequently result in the development of chronic kidney disease. Thus, it is crucial to continue screening for DI-AKI hub genes and specific biomarkers.

This paper mainly reviewed the research overview of ILs in the application of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) volatile oil preparation technology. Firstly, it briefly introduced the application of TCM volatile oil preparation technology and composition classification and physicochemical properties of ILs, and then summarized the application of ILs in the extraction, separation, analysis, and preparation of TCM volatile oil.

According to the proposed mechanism, COVID-19 vaccines stimulate inflammation and platelet activation. In this study, we analyzed the role of AZD1222/ChAdOx1 vaccines in the activation of platelets and the release of anti-PF4 antibodies and inflammatory cytokines in a cohort of healthy donors without vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT).

Stratifying patients into high- and low-TMTV risk groups requires a cutoff point, which is determined through the dichotomization method. This study investigated whether different TMTV dichotomization methods influenced survival prediction in patients with lymphoma.
