Background: Ultrasound training is crucial for residents across specialties but presents challenges for residents that are not specializing in ultrasound. Investigating the effectiveness of competency-based ultrasound curricula for a wider range of medical specialties is imperative.
Methods: A total of 250 residents who attended the ultrasound curriculum between June 2023 and June 2024 were included in the analysis.

Objective: Nitrates are used widely in clinical practice. However, the mechanism underlying the bioactivation of nitrates to release NO remains unclear. Recent animal data suggest that mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH2) plays a central role in nitrate bioactivation, but its role in humans is not known.

These diseases are associated with intraneuronal protein aggregates. Heat-inducible chaperones like HSP70 and HSP27 suppress poly(Q) aggregation and/or toxicity/cell death.

Whereas PABP2 is a major component of the inclusions in OPMD, the pathogenic mechanisms causing disease are unknown. Here we show that polyalanine expansions in PABP2 cause increased numbers of inclusions and enhance death in COS-7 cells.
