A photoreductive halogen-atom transfer (XAT) strategy for 1,4-dicarbofunctionalization of 1,3-enynes with organoiodides and cyanoarenes is disclosed, enabling access to functionalized allenes in a highly regio-, chemo-, and stereoselective manner. Upon the photoredox catalysis and the activation of EtN XAT agents, the mild conditions and high functional group tolerance of this protocol enable the formation of two C-C bonds, including a C(sp)-C(sp) bond and a C(sp)-C(sp) bond, in a single reaction step, and provides a general avenue to polysubstituted allenes and late-stage modification of bioactive compounds.

Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis can increase the success rate of drug development by providing genetic evidence. Previous MR analyses only analyzed the role of individual drug target genes in hemorrhagic stroke; therefore, we used MR analysis to systematically explore the druggable genes for hemorrhagic stroke.

The structures of the new compounds were elucidated on the basis of detailed spectroscopic analysis and the absolute configurations of 1 and 9 were confirmed by single-crystal X-ray crystallography using Cu Kα radiation. All the isolates were tested for the inhibition of LPS-stimulated NO production in macrophage-like mouse monocytic leukemia RAW264.

However, it remains unclear whether the available normal range for conventional GLS using the manual method is applicable to the automated GLS method. This study aimed to compare automated GLS head-to-head with manual layer-specific GLS, and to identify whether a specialized normal reference range for automated GLS is needed and explore the main determinants.

Epidemiological studies have indicated that per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) could induce thyroid disruption, but studies on teenagers living in areas with high PFAS exposure are limited. This cross-sectional study focused on 836 teenagers (11- 15 years) living near a Chinese fluorochemical industrial plant.

Here, a self-driven solar coupling system (SSCS), which was assembled by a TiO @MXene/CF cathode and a monolithic photoanode, was proposed for synergistically recycling uranium and degrading organics from complex radioactive wastewater, combining with electricity production. The TiO @MXene/CF was prepared via a simple annealing process with in-situ derived TiO nanoparticles decorated TiC MXene coated on carbon felt (CF).

Here, we present Infernape, which infers and quantifies PA usage from single-cell and spatial transcriptomic data and show its application in the mouse brain. Infernape uncovers alternative intronic PAs and 3'-UTR lengthening during cortical neurogenesis.

In this study, we proposed a novel zero-dimensional (0D)/two-dimensional (2D) nanocomposite material, nZVC/TiC, composed of nano zero-valent copper (nZVC) nanoparticles loaded onto TiC MXene nanoflakes, which was prepared using a simple in situ chemical reduction method. The uniform dispersion of 0D nZVC nanoparticles, with a size of approximately 5 nm, onto the 2D ultrathin TiC MXene effectively prevented agglomeration and corrosion of nZVC.

Aims: Mitral annular plane systolic excursion (MAPSE) is a simple and reliable index for evaluating left ventricular (LV) systolic function, particularly in patients with poor image quality; however, the lack of reference values limits its widespread use. This study aimed to establish the normal ranges for MAPSE measured using motion-mode (M-mode) and two-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography (2D-STE) and to explore its principal determinants.
Methods And Results: This multicentre, prospective, cross-sectional study included 1952 healthy participants [840 men (43%); age range, 18-80 years] from 55 centres.
Graves' ophthalmopathy (GO) is an inflammatory autoimmune disease that affects the eyes. It can significantly alter the quality of life in patients because of its distinctive pathological appearance and the effect on vision. To date, the exact pathological mechanism of GO has not been explicitly discovered.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 663 non-pregnant RPL women in Northeast China from October 2019 to July 2022. We assessed the state of anxiety, depression, and sleep quality before pregnancy using structured questionnaires, including sociodemographic characteristics, state-trait anxiety scale (STAI), center for epidemiological survey, depression scale (CES-D), Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), and symptom self-rating scale (SCL-90).
A cobalt (Co)-doped perovskite molybdenum trioxide (α-MoO) catalyst (Co-MO) was synthesized by a facile pyrolysis strategy and used for degrading various organic contaminants via peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation. The doped Co was inserted in the inter space between the octahedron [MoO], facilitating the growth of the α-MoO crystal on the [010] direction. This unique structure accelerated the activation of PMS as the Co-MO could function as a carrier for electron transfer to facilitate the Co(II)/Co(III) cycle in the Co-MO/PMS system.

A total of 16 main volatile compounds including 4 hydrocarbons, 4 alcohols, 2 acids, 3 aldehydes, and 3 others (N-containing, S-containing) were identified in raw duck meats from three different body parts. The hydrocarbon compounds account for more than 50% of all volatile substances in all three body parts.

Moreover, the abstraction of a hydrogen atom from aldehydes to afford acyl radicals has evolved as a rising star due to its high atom-economy and the ready availability of aldehydes. Considering the great influence and synthetic potential of acyl radical enabled reactions between aldehydes and alkenes, we provide a summary of the state of the art in this field with a specific emphasis on the working models and corresponding mechanisms.

Owing to their unique "core-void-shell" structural configurations, yolk-shell-structured electrode materials can achieve intimate contact with the electrolyte and alleviate the volume expansion issue during electrochemical cycling, which is therefore poised to further boost the electrochemical properties of hybrid supercapacitors. Herein, a facile self-templated strategy, consisting of a hydrothermal step and a high-temperature sulfurization process, has been developed for the construction of yolk-shell (NiCo)9S8 spheres in situ coated by graphite carbon ((NiCo)9S8/GC) due to the non-equilibrium thermal treatment of alkali metal alkoxides.

Ultraviolet B (UV-B, 280-320 nm) radiation causes complex molecular reactions in cells, including DNA damage, oxidative stress, and apoptosis. This study designed a mixture consisting of quercetin, luteolin and lycopene and used as a model to study the resistance of these natural chemicals to UV-B. Specifically, we have confirmed that quercetin and its mixture can increase the resistance of to UV-B through lifespan test, reactive oxygen species level assay, germ cell apoptosis test, embryonic lethal test and RT-qPCR experiments.
