Long-term follow up of fecundability after ectopic pregnancy in Taiwan: a nationwide population-based study.

Background: Ectopic pregnancy (EP) occurs when a fertilized ovum is implanted outside the uterine cavity. Its incidence is 2% of all pregnancies and is known to decrease fertility. This study aimed to measure pregnancy rates after EP, identify the various parameters influencing pregnancy, and compare these variables in women with and without a history of EP, as well as determine in which medical facilities women with EP seek medical help.

Cervical cancer and risk of dementia: real-world insights from a nationwide cohort study in Taiwan.

Objective: Cervical cancer, linked to human papillomavirus (HPV), ranks fourth among women's cancers globally. Several studies have found an association between viral infections or cancer and dementia, which is a major public health concern. This study aimed to provide real-world data on the association between cervical cancer and the risk of dementia.

Arteriovenous malformation-related headache and seizures in pregnancy masquerading as eclampsia: A case report.

Objective: Cerebral arteriovenous malformation during pregnancy is rare but lethal disease that usually present with new-onset seizures and headaches mimicking eclampsia. We report a rare case of cerebral arteriovenous malformation with abrupt seizures in the third trimester.

Case Report: A 28-year-old primipara was brought to our emergency department at 32 6/7 weeks of gestation with new-onset acute seizures and hypertension.

Effectiveness of high-intensity focused ultrasound combined with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist or combined with levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system for adenomyosis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Agonist (GnRH-a) and levonorgestrel releasing intrauterine system (LNG-IUS) are conventional conservative treatments for adenomyosis, and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) is a novel ablation technique. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of HIFU combined with GnRH-a or LNG-IUS for adenomyosis patients. In this systematic review and meta-analysis, Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane Library and Scopus databases were searched up to December 2021.

Robotic Hysterectomy with Ureter Identification and Uterine Artery Ligation for Benign Gynecological Conditions: An Early-Year Single-Center Experience.

The use and application of robotic systems with a high-definition, three-dimensional vision system and advanced EndoWrist technology have become widespread. We sought to share our clinical experience with ureter identification and preventive uterine artery ligation in robotic hysterectomy. The records of patients undergoing robotic hysterectomy between May 2014 and December 2015, including patient preoperative characteristics, operative time, and postoperative outcomes, were analyzed.

Clinical Characteristics of Hyperandrogenism Include Hirsutism, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and Acne: Association with Psychiatric Disease in Women -A Nationwide Population-Based Cohort Study in Taiwan.

Objective: Previous studies have shown an increased in psychiatric disorders in women with disorders associated with hyperandrogenism, but few nationwide cohorts have studied this phenomenon. Therefore, this study is aimed to examine the association between the clinical manifestations of hyperandrogenism and subsequent psychiatric disorders.

Methods: Based on the National Health Insurance Research Database, 49,770 enrolled participants were matched for age and index date between January 1, 2000, and December 31, 2015.

High-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma in cesarean section scar isthmocele - case report.

Objective: Cesarean section scar defect isthmocele, the pouchlike defect in the anterior uterine wall of the prior cesarean site. No previous report of malignant neoplasm in the isthmocele have been published. We reported a case of High-grade endometrial stromal sarcoma in isthmocele.

Concordance analysis of intrapartum cardiotocography between physicians and artificial intelligence-based technique using modified one-dimensional fully convolutional networks.

Background: Cardiotocography is a common method of electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) for fetal well-being. Data-driven analyses have shown potential for automated EFM assessment. For this preliminary study, we used a novel artificial intelligence method based on fully convolutional networks (FCNs), with deep learning for EFM evaluation and correct recognition, and its possible role in evaluation of nonreassuring fetal status.

Vaginoscopic hysteroscopy in management for women with post-menopausal vaginal bleeding.

Objectives: The feasibility of vaginoscopic hysteroscopy combined with office endometrial biopsy after ultrasonography for management of post-menopausal vaginal bleeding (PMB).

Materials And Methods: A prospective observational study of with PMB whom attending the Outpatient Clinic of Kang Ning Hospital during a four months period (1st Feb to 31st May 2018) was included. Vaginoscopic hysteroscopy was performed with endometrial biopsy after the initial clinical pelvic examination and transvaginal ultrasound examination.

Contralateral pedicled lateral arm flap for hand reconstruction.

Large defects of the hand usually require reconstruction with flap resurfacing to provide durable coverage and preserve function. Pedicled flaps are preferred when there are no vessels available or they are of questionable quality for anastomosis. Such clinical settings may be due to the primary pathology, or when the vessels are preserved for secondary reconstruction.

Pincer nails complicated by distal phalangeal osteomyelitis.

Besides the known cosmetic implications, pincer nails are often complicated by pain, chronic inflammation and recurrent suppurative infections. We report two such cases of chronic paronychia of the thumb secondary to pincer nails. Both were complicated by osteomyelitis.
