In southern China, α-thalassemia is the most prevalent hereditary monogenic disorder, and deletion variants are the predominant form. The fluorinated bisphenol A (2,2-bis[4-hydroxyphenyl]propane, BPA) substitute bisphenol AF (BPAF) could be more persistent and toxic than BPA, but little is known about its environmental fate. In this study, we established a co-metabolic BPAF-degrading bacterial enrichment culture with BPA as the growth substrate. BPAF degradation by the enrichment culture was dependent on BPA, and BPAF could be eliminated to below the detection limit with successive additions of BPA.

Indium phosphide (InP)-based quantum dot light-emitting diodes (QLEDs) are promising for future lighting and display applications due to their high color purity and brightness. However, their efficiency and stability are often limited by the disordered structure of the widely used poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):polystyrenesulfonate (PEDOT:PSS), which impairs charge transport. Progranulin (PGRN) is overexpressed and implicated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development; however, its post-translational modifications and regulatory mechanisms in HCC remain largely unexplored. Here, the expression levels of PGRN, OGT, and O-GlcNAcylation were found to be elevated in both HCC samples and cell lines. LC-MS/MS analysis and immunoprecipitation revealed that PGRN underwent O-linked N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) modification at threonine 272 (Thr272).

The NOD2 signaling pathway, which plays an important role in the mechanisms of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) development, has been closely associated with ubiquitination. It was revealed in this study that NOD2 receptor activation could obviously affect the expression of 19 ubiquitination-related genes, with N4BP3 being the most prominently expressed and upregulated. In addition, N4BP3 knockdown was found to reduce the mRNA levels of MDP-induced inflammatory factors, while N4BP3 overexpression elevated their mRNA levels as well as the levels of phospho-ERK1/2, phospho-JNK, phospho-P38 and phospho-NF-κB P65 proteins.

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques have proven to be powerful tools for the characterisation of the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) formed between the anode and solid electrolyte (SE) in solid-state batteries. XPS offers access to time and operational condition-resolved information on the SEI's chemical composition in the absence of destructive sample preparation.
