Mutations in the well-known Myostatin () produce a 'double-muscle' phenotype, which makes it commercially invaluable for improving livestock meat production and providing high-quality protein for humans. However, mutations at different loci of the often produce a variety of different phenotypes. In the current study, we increased the delivery ratio of Cas9 mRNA to sgRNA from the traditional 1:2 to 1:10, which improves the efficiency of the homozygous mutation of biallelic gene.

TAN was evaluated at 0.15% (dry matter basis, DM) in the in vitro experiment and 0.

Twelve fattening cattle (642 ± 14.6 kg) aged 21 to 22 months were randomly and equally divided into two groups based on body weight: one receiving room-temperature water (RTW; average 4.

A total of 40 beef cattle (640 ± 19.2 kg) were randomly divided into five treatments with eight cattle in each treatment raised in one pen according to initial body weight.

Heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) can interact with 10% of the proteome and is the most widely studied molecular chaperone in recent years. HSP90 is extensively involved in the regulation of protein folding and intracellular protein stability, making HSP90 a hopeful target for the treatment of multiple cardiovascular diseases.

In a previous study, we obtained and double-knockout sheep of significant breeding value. In this study, we carried out a 90-day feeding study in Wistar rats to assess the safety of genome-edited mutton.

The objective of this study was to develop a ratiometric and colorimetric organic sensor for Pb detection in environmental samples. A new probe 4-phenyl amino thiourea (PAT) was designed and synthesized using hydrazine hydrate and phenyl isothiocyanate as raw materials. After its structure was characterized and confirmed, its UV-vis spectral property was investigated in detail.

Streptomyces erythreus NRRL 2338, the erythromycin producing microorganism, contains extrachromosomal (plasmid) DNA. Four different plasmids, pSE1, pSE2, pSE4 and pSE6 present in the wild-type strain have characteristic mobilities on agarose gel electrophoresis, molecular weight and restriction endonuclease digestion patterns. Treatment of the wild-type strain with ethidium bromide or acridine orange gave two variants, one that could not convert erythronolide B to 3 (alpha)-mycarosylerythronolide B and another than produced 2 approximately 3 times more erythromycin A than the parental strain.
