Article Synopsis
  • Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a rare skin tumor, affecting about 1 in a million children, with 6% of cases occurring in this age group.
  • A study reviewed 17 pediatric patients with DFSP over 23 years, focusing on their treatments, which primarily involved surgical excision.
  • The findings suggest that specialized care from a multidisciplinary team is essential for managing pediatric DFSP, as complete surgical removal (R0 resections) led to no recurrences in the studied patients.
