Background: Honokiol is a natural polyphenolic compound extracted from Magnolia officinali, which is commonly used material in Chinese herbal medicine, has a variety of biological functions, including anti-tumor, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammation, anti-microbial and anti-allergy. Although honokiol has numerous beneficial effects on human diseases, the underlying mechanisms of tumor metastasis are still unclear. Previously, we reported that honokiol suppresses thyroid cancer cell proliferation with cytotoxicity through cell cycle arrest, apoptosis, and dysregulation of intracellular hemostasis.

Background: DNA damage and oncogenic viruses increase the risk of cancer post-kidney transplantation, including skin cancer, Kaposi's sarcoma, oral cancer, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Here we report an uncommon case of liver angiosarcoma that occurred 8 years after kidney transplantation. This study strictly complied with the Helsinki Congress and the Istanbul Declaration regarding donor source.

This case report describes a nursing experience caring for a patient with schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive symptoms. This patient suffered from symptoms of being controlled, obsessive thoughts, and compulsive behaviors. In addition, the patient showed no interest in implementing strategies for dealing with anxiety, no motivation for changing this suffering, and an inability to receive a higher level of rehabilitative job training in daycare.

Both deficient natural killer (NK) cell effector function and increased propensity to apoptosis of neonatal NK cells contribute to the increased susceptibility to infection in the neonates. Interleukin (IL)-12 and IL-15 are two immunoregulatory cytokines known to enhance cytolytic function of neonatal NK cells. The present study aims to simultaneously investigate the effect of IL-12/IL-15 on K562 cytotoxicity as well as NK cells apoptosis of enriched umbilical cord blood (CB) and adult peripheral blood (APB) NK cells, using flow cytometric cytotoxicity assays.
