An improved QuEChERS method combined with Multi-Plug Filtration Cleanup (m-PFC) clean-up procedure was developed for the simultaneous determination of 16 different sulfonamides in forage grasses using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS). The forage grass sample was extracted with 0.1 mol L NaEDTA-Mcllvaine buffer and acetonitrile solution, purified by the Navo U-QuE column tube, separated by Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse Plus C column, and analyzed by MRM (multiple reaction monitoring) mode and the internal standard method was utilized for quantification.

The objective of this study was to investigate the regulatory effects of a high-fiber content feed on the productive performance, meat quality, and fat acid composition. A total of 18 120-day-old Yushan pigs with similar initial body weight were randomly allotted into high-concentrate diet (high energy, HE) and high-fiber diet (low energy, LE) treatments for the determination of regulatory effects on productive performance, meat quality, and fatty acid content. Further, blood metabolomic, gut microbiota, and liver energy-related gene expression measurements were used to investigate the underlying mechanisms.

Background: Long-term heat stress (HS) severely restricts the growth performance of beef cattle and causes various health problems. The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in HS-associated inflammation and immune stress involving lymphocyte function. This study investigated the effects of dietary tea polysaccharide (TPS), a natural acidic glycoprotein, on HS-induced anorexia, inflammation, and gut microbiota dysbiosis in Simmental beef cattle.

The label with a large Stokes shift and strong fluorescence properties could improve the sensitivity of the lateral flow immunoassay (LFIA). Herein, two aggregation-induced emission (AIE) luminogens with spectral overlap were encapsulated in polymers by using the microemulsion method as a label, and the construction of a fluorescence resonance energy transfer mode was further verified via theoretical calculation and spectral analysis. Satisfactorily, the doped AIE polymer microspheres (DAIEPMs) exhibited a large Stokes shift of 285 nm and a 10.

As a subfamily of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factors, phytochrome-interacting factors (PIFs) participate in regulating light-dependent growth and development of plants. However, limited information is available about PIFs in pepper. In the present study, we identified six pepper genes using bioinformatics-based methods.

Rising atmospheric CO is a key driver of climate change, intensifying drastic changes in meteorological parameters. Plants can sense and respond to changes in environmental parameters including atmospheric CO and temperatures. High temperatures beyond the physiological threshold can significantly affect plant growth and development and thus attenuate crop productivity.

The basic leucine zipper (bZIP) family transcription factors play crucial roles in regulating plant development and stress response. In this study, we identified 62 genes from watermelon genome, which were unevenly distributed across the 11 chromosomes. These ClabZIP proteins could be classified into 13 groups based on the phylogenetic relationships, and members in the same group showed similar compositions of conserved motifs and gene structures.
