Dermal fillers are highly favored around the globe as minimally invasive or nonsurgical procedures. Imatinib mesylate is the first-line treatment for patients diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. However, some studies describe that imatinib mesylate may increase the tendency of skin fragility which can lead to easy bruising and hyperpigmentation after invasive skin procedures.

Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are the two major types of inflammatory bowel disease, and affect mainly the gastrointestinal tract but also have extraintestinal sequelae, such as arterial and venous thromboembolism. Thromboembolic complications, particularly pulmonary thromboembolism, can be life threatening and require prompt management with anticoagulants. Conventional vitamin K antagonists have been used for the treatment of thromboembolic complications, but the development of novel oral anticoagulants has shifted the paradigm.

Real time three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography imaging of crescent-shaped superior sinus venosus atrial septal defect.

Multi-imaging modalities should be considered in patients with atrial septal defects (ASDs) in which the degree of right ventricular enlargement is not fully explained by the small size of ASD found on conventional transthoracic echocardiography. We report a case of crescent-shaped superior sinus venosus ASD discriminated using real-time three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography. MDCT confirmed its relationship with the superior vena cava and the absence of combined anomalies, such as the pulmonary venous return anomaly.
